Ozone Generators...

Ozone generators can be VERY harmful if used to their full potential, but do not listen to all the hype saying all ozone generation is bad for you. You can do things like letting the generator run 2 minutes an hour and that alone will make a noticeable difference in smell while giving you no health risks. Ozone is in the air you're breathing right now.

Anything over 600mg / hour of ozone will being to cause throat irritation, head-aches, and possible chest pain.

Most QUALITY air purifiers include multiple functions, such as ionization and ozone generation. These emmit ozone @ about 360mg / hour which is quite safe, and can be reduced if you wish.

I am not a salesman, or work for any ozone generation company, but I am someone who is logical respects science, and some of these claims I have seen on this site, saying even small amounts of ozone is dangerous is ridiculous, it is all around you and it's inside your lungs.

If you chose to get an ozone generator just be sure to read the instructions carefully and I personally would never let it get above 400 mg / hour, it's better to be safe sorry.

@ I have a question for you regarding UV ozone generator Im looking at getting the zen living Ozone generator. It is rated for 3500 square feet but only puts out 360mg/h would that be safe to use in a 12x12 area?

Run it on a periodic timer to be safe. Start at 2 - 2.5 minutes per 30 minutes (as ozone degrades) and move up from there. That will help you save on electricity too.

Hey all. I am currently using a Air Tiger 3. I used the orignal air tiger before but it had to be turned off to enter the room to work. Turning the units off and on was a headache so I went to the inline version. The tiger 3 is placed between your exhaust fan and the vent outside. You are exhausting the ozone as fast as you exhaust your room. No messing around and absoultly no smell.

I am a legal grower but smell is the only thing that really worries me. The Air Tiger inline ozone generator has what it takes.

IMO

I use a 50mg/hour in my 6ft x 11 ft grow room. Plugs directly into the wall and the is no smell and you can barely smell the ozone. No headaches no worries about smell or powdery mildew because it also kills powdery mildew. Buds look great at 3 weeks into flower. Best $20 I have ever spent.

Current Grow:

Diablo OG Kush
Tahoe OG Kush

Advanced Nutrients - Mother Earth Super Tea.
Big Bud
Mendocino Honey
Bud Candy
Overdrive

I've talked with the growers who use our ozone machines, some large outfits in CA that grow for clubs and have multiple exhaust fans, and from what I've been told, you really don't want to put much ozone in the air (to breath) or potentially damage your plants, the true odor reduction comes from using ozone shock treatment levels to sanitize the air before exhaust. The best way is to have the air in the grow area treated in an adjacent room, can be as small as 10x10, by using a box fan to pull the air from the grow area into the adjacent room. Our $97 7000 m/h ozone generator should be placed around 3 feet from the box fan (air blowing onto unit) to create a high concentration of ozone. Next step is up to you but some then create 4" wide exhaust tubes to let the pressurized ozone rich, odor free air to escape the area through tubes they place in the wall filled with carbon mesh filter (to keep bugs from coming in and to destroy the ozone, capture any odors that survived) before it leave the building. Ozone will also keep the carbon filter from filling up and becoming ineffective. Companies that sell carbon use ozone to recharge the carbon, so you won't have to replace the carbon filter, the ozone will keep it "clean" so to speak.

People sell $18 repeat cycle timers (40 seconds) on ebay that I also recommend if you really want to inject just a small amount of ozone into the air. Our $54 3500 mg/h ozone machine can do the trick if run only 40 seconds every 30 minutes in areas up to 700 sq ft. That will create ozone levels under 1 ppm, under the EPA guideline, and similar to the ozone levels in the mountains or after a thunderstorm.
