Paging Dr. Green! Hydroponic Problems!! Help! Need Solutions Please!

I am freaking out.... again! Replanted 10 clones and now getting almost same "dying" results. What are we doing wrong!?

Here is what we got:

Hydroponic drip ring system with return to main reservoir. 400w HID light. Exhaust Fan and intake fans (24hrs).

Have tried:

- 24 hours watering
- water 3x in 24hr
- water 4x 24hr

-PH- 5.9-6.1
- Air temp hits 89-92 (5-6hrs daily) Low is 79 at night.
- Water temp 79-87
-PPM 900-1150
- C02 introduce
- Flag drips 4L/hr

On 2nd planting of clones.

Problems having again. Please see photos below. At 1st we thought it was over-watering, then we thought it was under-watering, then/ now over-heating.

We've tried 1/4 nutrients to full serving.

I am reading Jorges book and I am guessing that these girls are suffering from heat! Weird thing is, some plants seem to be handling it, while others will curl up on themselves and turn into sticks in 48 hours.

This is day 7 of new clones... same results!

HELP PLEASE!

Thank you Green Thumbs!

You have abad case of heat stress, anytime the temp. gets over 85dgs you have problems with uptake. It was getting 85 in my room I added astand alone ac and everything is back to normal. It makes the it not as potent and kiils the yield

with those kind of temperatures, i wouldn't be surprised if the roots were drying up, and that is an extremely high ppm for cloning. clones use the same nutrient dose as seedlings, especially with a drip system where it is effective. LOWER YOUR HEAT!

you should do 24 hours, but you should get some kind of foliar treatment like sm-90 or prozyme from humboldt nutrients to repair the damage and prevent dampening off (root rot). i would flush your system, drip it with a baby dose or the seedling dosage of nutrients and move it to a cooler place even if it means sacrificing light conditions, they won't survive otherwise from what i can see

anybody else vote for 24 hour water cycle? Have heard so many different ways! 3x daily.... 2x daily.... etc. Question: Should the RW stay wet or should it dry out between a H20 cycle? What should be the condition of RW- wet/ damp/ or dry and roots seeking h20?

Thanks for the advice Green Thumbs!

look, i don't know why you keep asking lol. the main thing is that you ALWAYS want your root system to be moist / wet at all times, but have adequate oxygenation. you do not run into oxygenation problems with drip irrigation though as hydroton does not hold any liquid and you will need to keep the roots constantly wet to prevent drying out. TRUST!

We got an AC unit that now keeps the room between 76-80 degrees and already see a huge change!

The girls that survived the heat stress look happy and I see new growth.

AC was the way to go!

thank for the help Green Thumbs!

it really looks like overwatering. the rockwool looks way to wet. untill you have a good root system thats grown into the pellets you should let the rockwool dry about 80% or so. whe you have a better stronger root system is when you should water more. right now all of your roots are still in the rockwool and it looks like they have drowend. and as far as your roots being transparent white thats not 100% true ive seen DWC's that had almost yellow root's and still yeiled over 2 lbs. my roots arent always transparent white and they do fine. give them a foliar spray with a very light nute soultion but just try and let the roockwool dry b4 wetting it again. hope this helps

when the roots havent grown out of the rockwool yet if you dont let it dry they can drown or get root rot. and those roots are no were near rotted.
