Sweet thread, thanks for sharing. Gotta ask how that super sensi star was. I'm a big fan of sensi star. Why did it never get released?
Luc had a particular Super Silver Haze cut (can't confirm if it was the Bay Cut used in the Blue Dream) and crossed it with his Sensi Star and Nebula. He called the SS cross "Super Sensi Star" and the Neb cross "Nebulaze". I grew them both out as test seeds between 2004 and 2006 and both versions threw hermaphrodites, which is why neither were released to the public.
What I can tell you is that, apart from the odd hermi, both were superior plants. SSS especially. In fact, I kept a clone around for a couple of years even though it did herm, as it only did it late in flowering, by which time it didn't really matter – unless you had other plants in the room that had not finished flowering, and then it became a problem. It was only the odd male stamen – it never went full-on hermie – but that's all it took.
As described, Nebulaze had a real lemon haze smell/taste and effect and flowered for 11 weeks. Super Sensi Star was sweeter, with a slight tropical berry flavour and went 10 weeks. SSS had a very strong high, but it was not the strong "knock you in the dirt" indica high of the orignal Sensi Star, but rather a very strong hybrid high that started off as a soaring sativa head high that quickly developed into a strong combination body high. It was a good smoke and a very high yielder – one of the highest yielding strains I had grown up until that time, but partly due to the 10-week finishing time. If you let it go any longer, it would start to herm.
