Passive intake

If intake holes are too large, or if the room does not seal well at all. what happens to passive intake?

I imagine if you have an extractor fan blowing exhausting the air, and if the holes are too large it may not create enough air exchange within the room.

what are your thoughts? Has anyone encountered problems before by not having the room seal tightly?

If the room seals better, will there be more passive air intake?

Thanks

The leaks are passive intake as well :-). So long as you are not forcing more air in than the exhaust is pushing out, you are good.

Without seeing the size the leaks, realize they could allow odor out and be an issue if light gets in through them in flower.

What do you mean by - "If intake holes are too large"? For a passive intake, you don't reach "Maximum Effeciency" until the total intake area is 5x the area of the "powered" exhaust vent (typically, fan size). You can test this by using progressively less intake area and watcing how much the sides of your tent "Suck In" (with respect to the amount of intake area). Even if your passive intakes are WAY BIGGER (10x to 20x the size of your extractor fan), the fan will still draw air in one end and blow it out the other! Like said above, any "leaks" just act as intakes.
