Actually, he was right.

10-20 miles was all that was separating hurricane eye wall and the coast, it was that close. We prepared seamlessly, and were rewarded..half of 'my town' is without power as of this post.

Hurricane Wilma ripped off metal door to the electrical room and was hanging by a hinge right below my apartment.

Hurricane Andrew was headed straight for Broward and at the last moment dropped ever so slightly and leveled Homestead.

They can never predict nature 100% even with computer models.

He may have been right that the storm would have produced much much more destruction if had gone west. I actually didnt fall asleep until about the time i could see that it was moving east of them.

The man that said that was not a weather man nor should he have said it like that. Have you watched it? Its unbelievable. And im sorry yes the devastation in Haiti was horrendous but some shacks were still left standing after the storm passed through. With that fact no not everyone and their kids would have died in florida even if they eye went over. Not even 10% of the population would have died. The buildings obv. Are coded and much stronger. So to say everyones gonna die is absolutely either ignorant or just plain unnecessary.
