I use a different type of charger,,,,, but very cheap and easy to come buy,,been using these for almost 18 years now lol,,,,,Okay what I use is the power supply from a old style desk top computer,,you will find it is a smart switching power supply so it will not come on,,, or will shut down in the case of a short,,,,That being said there are at least 50 power wires coming off of one of these and you could power something with each if you choose,,,The main power wires are already separated and color the same ,,,so red with red ,,black with black ,,blue with blue and so on very simple,,,remove the top cover and take a peak where all the wires are coming off of,,is a circuit board and the value of each wire is on the board,,,,12 volt ,,5 volt ,,3,3 volt and black is the ground,,I cut them and mount them to a bus terminal and put a wire on the bus terminal,,with a alligator clip for easy use,,,, I also ad a toggle switch as you will need to use two wires from a much smaller board as they are the wires that would have run to the on /off switch,,to turn the power supply on,,,I used one to power a CN radio and a linear,,which is a amplifier for that type of radio,,,But I use fans from a 12 volt fridge as they can be run on 3,3 volts no trouble,,I also use my power supply to recharge double AA battery and anything else I want,,I used one a while back to perform electrolysis and remove rust from old metals and such ,,,,I Tinker ,,you can run that 12 volt fan in your pict with 3 volts 5 volts or 12 as it is a brush less motor and will run based of the power input the higher the voltage the faster the fan spins,,in that type of motor

Damn that's dope... I kinda already invested in these... you wouldn't know how to go about wiring these would you? I guess I could craigslist an old pc if worst comes to worst.

So I bought a PC fan and a DC power adapter. I cut the wires and then capped them together. You could use electrical tape but this is a pain when the next fan burns out.

Hope this is what you were looking for...

Connect that plug to and outlet, get a multimeter, set it to DC volts, put the to leads in whichever whole and check what it says on the meter. If it says -12v for example, then where your RED lead is, that's you minus which you will connect your BLACK cable from the fan, and where the BLACK lead is you will connect the RED cable from your fan. Easy as pie.

Since it's DC rather than AC, you need to make sure that the positive wire is connected to the corresponding on the fan, otherwise you will/might short the little motor on the fan out. So borrow a multimeter and be on the safe side.

Btw, mobile phone chargers work well, check the back that it corresponds with the rating and just strip the wires and connect them like I said above.

They look worse then they are,,,just those 2 wires turn it all on the fan will come on when you have it right,,will try to get a better close up for you,,on this one it is a gray wire ,,and a white wire that turn on power in this one,,,you can see when you pull the top off one all the main amount of wires are banded together they can stay that way for now the ones you are hunting will be towards the middle or the front like in my pic you can see there is very few of them the ones that did nothing I tied in a not will clip them off at board unless you want to run 220 and I never use those 3 or so wires so they will be dead unless you run it on the 220 side,,
