I was thinking it seems a little small too. We were thinking about using an old speaker box.
If you don't have the time/resources to build another box, you could look into using a "low profile" pot or container so you can maximize the vertical growth space you have. Something like a cheap 1/2 gallon rectangular tupperware with holes drilled in it for drainage and also tape or block off the outside so light doesn't kill the roots along the outer edge.

You just need a smaller pot. I have seen people grow out soda bottles. I like the setup. I would say make it work since you have spent the time building it just get yourself a long horizontal pot or tray

Thanks. We were able to make a little more space by running the extension cord outside of the box. Now the lights are higher so it gives a little more space.
We assumed that if we used a big pot to start we would avoid the need to transplant. I am starting to think that could have been a mistake??? Any thoughts?

My understanding is that the main thing a big pot gives you is more time between waterings/feedings. My plant did not get root bound in the container I used and it was only a 64oz tupperware.

If you plan to keep it in there you need to get a smaller pot. No matter what strain you have it will grow at least 25 cm. With serious LST. But like in the bonsai. A small pot will keep the plant small.

Personally, I think you should re-think everything.

It is a ton of trouble for such a small yield. Why not just use a closet and get some real lights and then you will actually produce a product worth putting the time and effort and money? There are plenty of ways to make a grow box big enough and good enough to produce for personal smoke and still be stealthy about it. Like someone pointed out above, a hollowed out dresser or chest.

My buddy has a box in the middle of his art studio and has it painted and looks like something he stores materials in, its actually growing MJ.

I partially disagree. Although it seems like my PC harvest was outside the norm, the main reason for doing a PC box grow IMHO, is to learn about growing. Anyone expecting a bountiful harvest from a PC grow box is setting themselves up for disappointment. While doing my research I figured 14g would be acceptable for my first grow. In the end she gave me almost 5x that, but like I said, I seem to be outside the norm. If you keep it simple, keep the number of variables low, and pay attention to what your plant tells you...it might end up surprising you, too.

Then if you successfully pull off the PC box grow, you can start thinking about bigger and better setups for a bountiful harvest.

You have like 4-6 inches of room think about realistically plants stretch more than that just during the first week of flowering...:wall: Besides that you will also have concerns with heat issues.

That is the plan. We are just experimenting for now. New growers and all. I have high hopes for the her either way and have seen a lot of proof that PC boxes can produce surprising yields.

What kind of issues? I read that it should maintain a temp of about 24 - 30 degrees Celsius. It seems to be steady at 25.
