No, it wouldn't.I bet maybe three plants max, if you scrogged and added side lighting.I grew one big plant with my 150 watter. For four or five, I'd say you'd definitely need to go bigger.I was just using my 150 watter as an example, because even that small light did way better for me than cfl's.I'm just speaking from personal experience, though.
thanks stoney! those links are alot of help. yea i feel you. my best bet is to go with hps. i would just like to get one light. so would 150 watt one cover that for 4 to 5 plants?

word. maybe im pushin the envelope a bit lol. i am probably goin to start with 2 plants now since im new at indoor and the whole mula situation.
so im most likely goin to start lookin at 150s.
could you have both types of lighting? or would that fuck shit up?
like say i had to 150 hps rigged up top and had some cfl's rigged on the sides. could that work?:dunce:
sorry for all the questions

That's exactly what I did.A 150 watt hps with some tube fluorescents on the sides. When I get some proper ventilation, I'll be able to use my 400 watt light.

Cfl's or tube fluorescents used for growing should work fine.I just used a tube fluorescent because I had such a tall plant.I used a hook and hung it fom a chain. They're really only to supplement your main light.the 150 watter was easily cooled for me by blowing a fan directly on the bulb.I wanted to try scrog, I heard that's awesome to use when you have a small light, but I let my plant get too big and had to scrap that idea.
knarley!! how did you rig up the tubes on the sides?
what kind of fluorescents do they have to be?

Hey peace, if you have a farm store nearby like Menard's or Orscheln,They sell these big ass 250 watt cfl security lights...but you have to buy the fixture, which is 70, and the bulb itself is about 25,and I thin there's some wiring. The main reason I like the htg light that I bought is because there was no wiring.I have zero experience with that sort of shit, and my hands sweat all the time so when I turned the power back on, if shit wasn't dry, I'd probably short it all out.If you want easy, get the htg light. Cfl's will work, but for me personally,I was amazed by the difference even a small hps made. And I found the cfl's I used actually made it hotter in my grow room than the hps and tube side lighting. But I'm not an expert, so listen to all the options presented and then decide.

Fyi. if that 4' tube looks like side light. It's not. It was never pluged in. She might have got a little side light from the 80w nex to it but not much.
