i think everyone tries them at some point. Youll probly use them till they piss you off.
I dont like the plastic mesh that comes on them. seems like roots have a hard time poking through sometimes. I dont know, but I seem to get more stunted ones using those things...

yeah rooting hormone...just be careful as unohu69 said about the mesh around them holding in roots...sometimes the roots don't like to poke through so they get choked off...after I get some roots going I cut away the mesh and repot it into a small container to continue its rooting :)

I used to get clones in them, I found that yeah, you gotta cut the mesh of the bottom. at least tear it open, its folded like wrapping paper. but when I do my own i use a generic cow pot, promix/perlite. im still iin search of the perfect method. I really like bubble cloners, and I like that guys mist maker cloner. if youve seen it you know what i mean.
i am in the process of a clone off (see my journal) so far there is no difference between, clonex, aloe, and nothing.

you guys get weird peat pucks, the ones around here are in a nylon mesh and after so long, the mesh just disintegrates
peatpucks work great if you know how to use em!

soak, wait to expand, cut clone at 22deg (very sharp angle so its a very pointy) this increases the cambium exposed, i give the stalk a lil scrape personally to remove the outer layer of stem... without knowing how far to go, this will cause more damage than good. Dip in water, dip in cloning powder, dip in cloning gel (yes i use both) put in peat puck, squeeze tight around clone, put puck back in pool of water you squeezed out of it to absorb it back up. put in tray with humidity dome and a seedling mat underneath. keep the temps in the area of 75-85 itll root faster. wait 5-10 days.

That's what they are suppose to do, but how fast it disintegrates depends on how moist it stays ;)

thanks for the advice
well this means i can save money to put toward new light because i have a dome nand heatmat and the take root is a lot cheaper than buying a cloner

my best advice with peat pucks, when you first start out, cut way more clones than you need expect a 50% failure rate until you get "good" at taking clones!
this is the main reason most people get discouraged with peatpucks and say they are crap, because they dont have 100% success instantly

well in my opinion
even if you got an spend a buncch of money on a fancy cloner that does everything for you you wont have 100% at first so why go spend a ton of cash on a clonerwhen you can buy cheap stuff that does the same thing alsio im my opinion buying all this fanycy equiptment like cloners - hydroponic - aerioponics - it takes all the fun manual labor out of growing think about back in the day when they didnt have all this shyt ppl use now like when benjermin franklin had the first everpot farm they pl*nted 5 acrea offarmland with cannabis and waterd it by hand and when it came time to harvest they was more than happy to cut i diwb with some ragidy long knife that orolly barly cut nething

Well you can build a cloner for probly around 30-40$ less if you have some stuff kikn around. And I enjoy DIY stuff. so theres nothing lost there.

everyone has different success and failure rates at every method they try. I dont expect a 100% success rate outta clones. but im probly at 80% easy enough.

Im not sure how your spossed to get "good" at cloning, its not rocket science, cut, dip, stick. how hard is that? people biggest problem is they expect roots in 3 days, sometimes it takes longer, depends on what part of the plant you cut, how "woody" said stalk is, overall health of the plant etc, etc. etc....

just show a little patience, clones arent going to show the growth that a plant will. Tho my last couple i put in a bubble cloner never missed a beat, always perky, looking towards the light, remained green the whole time, and now they are great plants.....

* I have NO fancy equipment. The only Tech I have is a cheap Milwaukee Ph meter, probly $20. a friend gave it to me.
2 air pumps, one for my coffee can DWC (one of the previous bubble cloner clones is in now), and 1 bubbles my water (bad chlorine in our tap water here).
