yea sounds good to me. The perlite is a really good idea, compost usually gets to wet by itself . What kind of peppers are you growing & how big are they?
See my post about the eating requirements for peppers at full size. I usually use about 30% perlite, and 70% soil mix when doing dirt peppers. I have found that hot peppers need a higher ppm than sweet peppers such as bells. As Purpz stated, compost normally holds quite a bit of moisture, and peppers generally require good drainage, however they should love the extra nutrients.
