Vertical is obviously the absolutely most efficient use of light
Digital ballasts with 600 watt bulbs provide the most lumens per watt by a good amount
If going with a more traditional setup, aeroponics usually provides the most explosive growth out of everything else. I'm a big fan of aero. As long as you can keep your res temps in check it's worth looking into!

...600 watt hps has the best lumens per watt ratio when it comes to HIDs. Meaning, you get more lumens for the price of electric than your 400 watt, 1000 watt, exc...
do you know how much more efficient a 600 is than a 1000?

A 600 watt HPS produces close to 160 lumens per watt, a 1000 watt produces about 150 lumens per watt, and a 400 watt produces about 135 lumens per watt.
