Perfect light for veg.?

So now that I have totally winged my first grow, I am getting myself set up RIGHT (hopefully) for the second. I grew the whole first one with 1000 hps. Now of course I know I need different lighting for veg. My question is which one is best? I like the heat the hps puts off do to extreme cold here. Just thought of another question. How many lights do you need to grow 10 - 15 plants?

Try 2 600w MH veg
and @ 600W HPS Flower
You really need Full Spectrum all the way around.
You'll be super happy.

you need MH for veg, not a have to have, but if you want to know most use MH for veg.

if you need heat from your light as you mentioned you will be happy with MH bulbs, they run hotter than HPS.

Thats what I was thinking, just wanted to be sure. 1 1000 watt mh wont do? Im asking because I thought it would be cheaper to just buy a mh bulb and swap out bulbs? I should mention im growing in a 5x5x8 closet right now, but have more width if needed. If its better to have two seperate lights and ballasts I will spend the dough.

you dont need 2 lights unless you want them.

a 1000 mh bulb will veg nicely in your space, you need to make sure your ballast is switchable or you buy a conversion bulb.

you can switch bulb types as long as your ballast has this capability. if you have a regular magnetic ballast you would need what is called a conversion bulb. really the only reason to have a separate veg area is so that you can have something vegging while you flower so you can always have something in bloom. it is cheaper to use one room and change bulbs, but takes more time to harvest x amout of bud. so essentially you spend the same amount just spread out. sort of like credit lol. but if you have the dough just pay it off, or in other words, set up a separate veg room. pardon my stoned analogies...

O.k. Im ready to roll!! Went out today and got a 1000 watt mh , reflector, and ballast. I ended up spending $360.00. I hope I didnt get ripped off. This second grow should hopefully go great. Like the pro's!! Now that I have both light spectrums. Now I want a grow tent. This hobby is really getting outta hand. lol.
