Perfect organic soil for Master Kush and Swiss Cheese +rep

This is the first time i have ever ordered seeds. I went with Master Kush for its reputation and swiss cheese for its mold resistance, both from nirvana seeds. Everything is set in motion for this grow but my soil. I love the idea of organics by my attempt last year was ruined by animals digging up my plants for the Fox Farm Marine Cuisine i was using. I have decided this year to stay away from stinky ferts like blood and bone meal and stick to worm castings and guano which i have read dont attract animals.

I have two bales of peat moss left over from last year that i am going to use as a base. I dont know in what ratio to put the ingredients in or even all the exact ingredients im going to use. What are yalls thoughts on this soil:

Mainly peat moss, maybe 1/2 or so
Add worm castings (does 1/4 sound good or to much?)
1/4 perlite
Dolomite lime to balance ph

That is for inside, when i transplant outside in may im thinking use the same mix but just worm castings doesnt seem like enough nutes. When flowering starts i want to add potassium rich guano under the top layer of soil and also make a tea out of it.

I just feel like thats not enough. I have the Fox Farm Trio except for the grow big, so if i need extra flowering nutes im fine, but only worm castings for veg. Should i
add something more to the initial soil mix like more phosphorous or organic material?

Any advice from you guys that know what youre doing is greatly appreciated.
I will take into consideration ANYTHING you think i should add, change or look out for.

Hey Uvalax,
If you feel you need more fertilizer and/or organic material, (I agree), try dried poultry litter or aged manure of any kind or high quality compost.

My soil mix is:
20% Native soil
40% Compost
30% Manure
10% Perlite, organic fertilizer and dried poultry litter (combined)
With that much manure and fertilizer, I transplant into potting soil and native soil mix in the immediate root zone, then let the roots grow into the spicier mix and watch it grow like the proverbial beanstalk.
With this mix I won't have to fertilize till July (west coast)

I wish I had an affordable supply of worm castings nearby. they are too expensive to use in large outdoor planting holes IMO.
Dig BIG holes.

P.S., I agree with you about blood and bone meal....gotta put it in deep to keep animals away and that might not work either. Wire cages to keep them at bay.

Yeah, could do it with a smaller hole and will in other locations, just wanted to try for some 2 pounders. I enjoyed the exercise and took advantage of this crazy January digging weather.

If you cant get a five or ten pounder out of that hole something is wrong. Give me that hole and a GC clone I will show you how to harvest a minimum of five . It would cost you in amendments you would only need to water though. good luck this year. dirrtyd

Get a dream queen clone or a green crack clone both the same thing. It will go crazy trust broke a shovel getting the roots out this year in less of a hole. dirrtyd

Come on guys, i know to dig a big hole. Thats not the question. Yall can one up each other as much as you want but that doesnt tell me if i should add nutrients.

It is obvious you dont know. You dont need a big hole to grow large plants a myth. You need to have some good amendments in the soil to feed the soil which in turn feeds the plant. Now my soil recipe has what you will need you can check out my thread. dirrtyd

when i fill my holes this is the recipe i use. I eye ball the amounts of each ingredient so no measuring needed.
I have 3'x3'x3' holes then i have a raised bed

I use kellogs garden soil 3cu.ft. bundles per hole
then mix those with:
lots of cow manure
lots of pig manure
lots of poutlry manure
lots of worm castings
then i add bat guano, depending on how much soil i mix i us about a shovel load per yard of soil im mixing
then i add
dolomite lime couple hand fulls
blood meal couple hand fulls
bone meal couple hand fulls
sea kelp LOTS
i mix and fill my wholes and give a gallon of water on the top of the filled wholes to check drainage
if they need more drainage i add perlite to the drainage i like. pretty simple.

after all that is said and done water your whole really good and let sit for a week or so, because that mixture is really HOT.
after about a week you should be good to transplant.
With all that amendment i dont have to feed nutes til just before they start flowering
last year i only had to give my plants 2 veg feedings before i switched to flowering nutes, i use MAXSEA by the way its great stuff.
