Then I took off the sunglasses I needed to see the previous pic of the bright lights and realized it is a jiffy cube.

Lookin good man.
lol yeah, its the latest thing, snakeskin starter pots.. there huge in AZ
thanks for the compliment!
i still think your greenhouse is too sexy for its shirt tho

fine as can be, in that boring after seedling/b4 pre flowering phase... nothing interesting to report besides it looks like 1 out of the 3 troubled seedlings is gonna make it for sure, one is 50/50 ,and one is about to kick the bucket but im trying to superthirve it back into existance, lol.

on reflection, i do have something surprising to report about the 8ball kush
after only getting 2/4 germination (actually 3/4 but i murdered one, kind of) and the line being disco'd i was really leery about having this strain in my cab.
however, so far, the 2 8ball kush's in there are outperforming the pure, aurora b, sensi star, the local yokel!
ill still be keeping a extra close eye on them during flowering, on the lookout for bananas, but by far they are some of the healthiest little plants i have ever seen!
im really glad i still have one seed left, even if its a femm'd, who knows, i might have the only one left?
pics soon, been busy @ that other place.

So 8ball Kush, and Vanilla? Sweet. That Burmese Kush and Critical Mass both look phenomenal. What traits are you looking for?
I see from your background at the other place, Wow:clap:. I always thought when you said you had to 'travel for work' it was to make a Nuclear Power Plant run better. Guess I wasn't too far off.:eyesmoke: I've read and re-read that one and get more as you go.

I'm modding my aero-cloner, and I looked over yours again. I have it running a bleach and peroxide till I get the craft foam. I use plain water that has sat for a couple days, and several drops of Super-Thrive. I've heard Clonex is good. What do you use? For the air pump I've tried 20/40, 40/20, or full on. What do you use?

Dude you have built a amazing cabinet. I love your results! The plants look amazing and the cabinet is perfect. I can see you totaly know what your doing with the wiring. :-)

I love your dog! I have a dog that looks amazingly like yours. I wonder if it is the same breed. Mine is a female South African Mastiff or Boerboel as they are known. Her colouring is the same as yours with a dark snout and white on the chest. She is now 10 months old and weighs 50kg. Her hight is about 62cm, so she is a big girl. What kind of dog do you have? She is very pretty.

thanks for all the compliments guys!

ive been so busy 'offline' i havent had much time to keep up on my updates.... i know, thats a lame excuse, but the truth usually is!

i keep my pump on 24/7, if theres cuttings in there, the pump runs, no exceptions. lighting is on 24/7, though 18/6 is just as effective.
superthrive is potent stuff, i use it as well, but never use more than 2 drops per gal. i have fried clones using too much of it, which is painful, especially after theyve rooted.
i also use a drop or 2 of schultz liquid plant feed, i beleive its 10-15-10. i only use the liquid feed so they have something to eat while there rooting, i never expect growth untill the cuttings are repotted.

ah, thats a story....

at first, i thought i had got my hands on an american pitbull terrier, which is a common breed many of you are probably familair with in one way or the other. i thought this, because rocky is a rescue dog, i have no 'paperwork' on him. but after several trips to the vet for shots, checkups, an incident with worms, and some frontline, the vet tells me he believes the dog is not a pitbull terrier, but an actual american pitbull, which is exceedingly rare these days, as the breed is all but extinct. but it turns out that there are known populations of the breed, in isolated sections of the american deep south, mainly areas that were bypassed for railroad and interstate construction. rocky came from an area not far from stone mountain, ga that is very much old south, to this day. after doing some research on the subject i learned some interesting things about pitbulls. an american pitbull terrier is/was bred from taking desirable qualities of a pitbull, and then breeding those qualities out to come up with an almost totally different dog. the pitbull terrier, is a short, stocky dog, very muscular, not very fast, not very vocal, but very dangerous, for a variety of reasons, but mainly mistreatment and a lack of understanding the needs of a pitbull terrier. a full blooded american pitbull (not a terrier) more closely resembles an american bulldog, in that they are large to medium sized dogs, with a playfull, pleasing disposition, and is highly athletic (but not gracefull). You could say an american pitbull is like a pitbull terrier on steroids that thinks its a labrador, lol. he is a very playfull dog. ive had him for 5 months now, and he is approaching 75lbs. i expect him to top off at around 125... they grow so fast, lol. its like they grow in there sleep, everytime he wakes up he looks bigger.

yep, the double decker design works well.
i also flowered in mine, it works great, i just added the second cab so i could reduce the time between plantings, by having the thrid cab, it freed up space in the upper deck for new seedlings!

Great thanks again. Here's my modified Clone area and the new lid. It's good for 7, so we'll see if this works better.
Bubble Cloner 002.jpg 7-9 Bubble Cloner Wide.jpgThey're on 20/4 and air pump constant. I did a thorough Heavy Bleaching to start with.
I'm building a Sulfur Burner to make sure the PM is dead. Among other help from my research. Whats your advice on one of those? Much later as I KNOW you have a ton of stuff to update.:bigjoint:

Just A Quick Update...

So the Kill-a-Watt, NYPower Diesel, and Ceres Skunk are all seedlings. The Lemonator, and the KS Auto seedlings keeled over and died unexpectedly, boo hoo.... so 4 KW, 1 NYPD and 1 CS seedlings are in the upper deck vegging at the moment.

In the lower deck, LSD and Vanilla Kush are both in early flower. Ive been feeding them veg nutes since they were seedlings and I am about to switch over to bloom formula. The LSD seems to be a pretty leggy plant, I hope it will produce some decent buds, but its too early to tell. The Vanilla Kush is a short, stocky plant that I am really liking more than the LSD at this point.

In the finishing cab, I have the 2 remaining 8 ball Kush, 1 The Pure, and 1 Sensi Star. The 8ball Kush had finished its stretch, along with The Pure and the Sensi Star, and all 4 plants budsites are beginning to fill in nicely. The 8ball Kush is a really pretty pair of ladies, im sad that Barney's Farm has decided to disco them. I have one seed left, if it continues to exceed my expectations like it has to this point, after a smoke test I might be tempted to mother out the remaining seed. Time will tell. If anyone reading this has any 8ball kush male or hermi plants or pollen, please give me a pm! I would really like to preserve the line if possible.

Next run of seedlings will be Artic Sun by The Flying Dutchmen, supplied of course, by speedyseedz. Im actually looking forward to this, as all of my previous runs with Flying Dutchmen gear have been more than successful, and I have never ran this strain before.

So many great grows to read through, yet so little time! I breezed through this looking for info on your 400W CMH bulb but I definitely want to go back and read some more!!

Regarding the 400W CMH what would you predict the differences in temp would be between the 400W CMH and 430W HPS in your current setup, assuming you made no changes but the bulb.

I'm currently running 250MH mother chamber right above my flower chambers (actually 2 flower chambers) but when I plug in one of the 430W HPS it whacks everything out temp-wise even with massive air changes and such. Before I resort to buying a used portable AC unit, do you think I can get my temps down from 86* by converting over to the CMH bulb? Each chamber is 48"w x 35"h x 17"d or roughly 18cu ft per chamber.

Any info would be most welcome!! I like the lumen and spectrum data on this bulb, just hoping the temp side of it is there too!!

peace bro!

best to my knowledge, the CMH burns hotter than the HPS, tho I have nothing to compare it against (no HPS)
getting my 400w cmh and 250 mh in a single cabinet was a bold move, and is more complex than my deceptively simple pics show.
I could run either the 400, or the 250 by itself with no problems, but if i ran them both, the combined heat from them and the two other cabs was too much for my little a/c unit. Firing up the 250 400w combo made my temps rise from 67 in the room to 85 in the room in just a matter of 90 mins or less.
not wanting to spend money on a larger, energy hogging a/c unit, i wanted to see if i could use some applied engineering to solve my conundrum.
i wanted both lamps running, but didnt want to pay out any more $, so i got smart and turned to technology for the answer.
from racing technology, i utilized the concept of CAI (cold air intake) by using ducting off the sides of the cab to act as a 'scoop' to pick up the coldest air in the room, right off the floor. (cold air always sinks to the lowest point in the room) my exhuast fans for this particular cab generate enough negative pressure to compress the air as it enters the duct, cooling it an additional 2 degrees. but it still wasnt enough, and here's where i got tricky... i made a thermocline out of my grow room.
a thermocline exists in any body of gas or fluid that has temperature differences. thermoclines are responsible for the weather, ocean currents, the jet stream, and very interesting sonar properties in the ocean. but for growroom purposes, a thermocline is where the air in the upper portion of the room is a great deal warmer than the air in the lower portion of the room, by several degrees. I was able to do this by carefully positioning the fans inside the room to direct heated air up, and a/c air down to the floor. the result is that the temp close to ceiling level is 78f, the temp on the floor 70f, the cold 70f degree air keeps the cab interiors at a balmy 79-81f.
complicated explanation for a simple concept.
