Space, plant count, and time limitations are among the biggest challenges to a perpetual garden. Plus most people smoke faster than it can possibly grow. My goal remains as always to never run out of weed; harder than it sounds.
The best advice I can give is to use the power of three: you will need at least 3 separate growing spaces; each for a specific phase of growth. You’ll need a small area for rooting clones and seedlings; a nursery. Then a larger area for mid to late vegging. Then a dedicated flowering area which should be of the largest space you can muster.
A nursery could be just a small corner with some fluorescent lighting or low end LED panel. For a veg area you’ll want something larger. Say a 3x3 tent or bigger. Good lighting here is important to promote tight nodal growth. You don’t want big spaces in between the branches. Obviously your bloom area should be the largest area with the most intense lighting you can afford.
The power of three extends to timing as well. You can get a system going with clones so you are switching them to the next phase about every 3 weeks or so. Harder to do this with seedlings because they take too long to veg and train out.
