Perpetual Hobby -

OK, so I'm moving house next week, and into a 3 bed house, so I gets a room just for my hobby, rather than having to share a bedroom with tents.

I've grown a few different strains over the past 2 years, all Indica based, and all in soil. I love soil and will continue using it, but also trying DWC in my 250 tent. Also trying 3 new strains from a new breeder, which were seeds 3/4 days ago, and are now proper little cress-like seedlings.

The really tall one of the 3 is "Y Griega", the other 2 are "No Name" and "Prozak"..

I don't know what the "norm" is, but I'm counting today as the start of veg, as this is when all 3 seeds broke the surface and turned upright. I'm told to be careful with veg time, especially the Y griega as they can get a bit monstrous. Also this wll be the first time i've grown a sativa dominant strain, and looking forward to the variation in growth, plant look, and buzz.

Hoping to have a bit more free time coming up, so trying to expand my training, and keep my first decent journal.

And here are 5 Strawberry cough, at 28 days after flip. Lost a few of the lower leaves due to mould, and a little underfed cos I converted teaspoons per gallons into ml per litre wrong, but back on track now and looking a better green. Was hoping for 8 weeks flower time as this strain has been quick in the past (7 weeks) but recon i'll have to go to 9 on this grow

Just re-homed my bubbies, and ordered my 10 litre DWC set up, ready for collection on wednesday :)

The Y Griega and Prozak are in the soil, left and right respectively, and the No Name has just been plopped into a bigger rock wool cube. All soaked in water, with just a drop of Biogrow per 2 litres.

Gonna put the No Name into DWC on sunday, and then hopefully see this amazing growth difference over soil.... convinced the taste won't have the same "je ne sais quoi"...but I will do all I can to prove myself wrong

Haha thanks, it's just a cardboard box made up with some old electrics from a cupboard grow, only took 30 mins to throw together. It just needs to get the seeds through untill the end of the week when I can set up in the new place. 30w 6500k, and 24w 2700k bulbs, in a little 1/2 sq ft box

Twice today I dropped the tupperware lid (make-shift propagator) on my 3 little ladies, and they took it very well. Just dropped all 3 on the floor, and they took a little b attering, seem OK at the moment, but really worried about them now...just hope they are toughh little cookies

It's gong well, 14-16 hours after abusing the fuck out of my seedlings, and they still all look fit and healthy. Thank you mother nature :)

I'm a little worried about the one in rockwool stretching, as when I grow in dirt, I just bury them deeper to fix this. I have allowed a half inch for clay pebbels on top and bottom of the rockwool when it goes into the net pot, and hopefully that'll work out about the same. really nervous of totally fucking up my first soil-less grow. Can't afford a PPm metre right away, but hoping distilled water, minimal nutes and weekly reservoir changes will keep them low and sensible.

Didn't like having the rockwool cube exposed, so whacked it into it's net pot with some clay pebbles. Don't think that it will get roots through the bottom for a few days yet, but that's fine, cos my 250 tent currently has my strawberry coughs in there, and won't be free till sunday.

Thought I would start building my screen though as i picked up my bubbler today. The screen is 45x45cm, and will be attached to the bucket, so I can remove it and collapse the tent if need be, and this will hopefully allow for the negative pressure bowing the tent inwards, yet still allow maximum efficiency from my set up. This is my first SCROG again, done some toppng ans LST, and rather then have a flat screen, allow some of the buds around the edges to grow slightly taller, allowing for the fact they are further away from the bulb horizontally.

NB - stupid stoner forgot to calibrate his pH pen after getting everything out of storage for 2 months. Set a mix to 6 pH, calibrated, and came out at 5.6pH. Not a huge problem, as in soil I feed at 6.6, which would have been 6.2, and not too bad, but does explain the N def.

Think i'm gonna have myself a j and finish off my screen :)

Subbed up Hetty. Looking forward to your scroggin, and seeing these Medical seeds strains. The Y griega looks like a real nice sativa hybrid. Their other gear looks good to, nice genetics and reasonably priced. The screen looks great, bamboo is nice and lightweight and good and strong. I am so tired of gorilla tape, that shit just doesn't seem to stick for me very well for long time use. Been using the foil duct tape and really like it, seems to stay put forever.

Looking great man.

Thanks :)

The screen is finished now, with green garden string making up the rest of it. IN the pic you can see, I used very some really strong UHU glue to hold all the pieces of bamboo in place and let it dry and then wrapped the joins in black electrical tape. Then i tied the joins with green garden string, and used the UHU glue on the knots to make them hard in a carbon fibre and resin style. The strings that make up the main part of the screen, are woven under/over alternatively, and wrapped around the 2 centre bamboo struts on their journey. I don't plan on having to fix it mid flower lol. Bodged to many jobs in early grows, and always regretted it soon after. Will prob throw this screen away and build one from plastic tubing next time.

Yes I know the screen could be neater, but once it is attached to the pot, i will pull the strings into a more uniformed spacing

Seedlings are doing ok, with the rockwool one being really behind, but I'm sure that will change when it goes into the bubbler this weekend.

Also, just ordered 10 Blue Mystic autoflower seeds for a little guerrilla trial this summer...happy days :)

OK, so I just chopped my 5 strawberry cough's, recon at 5-7g per plant lol....banging!! They were only supposed to be as top gap harvest while I was moving, but still hoped for better. At least I'll have a zip of really nice smoke while my No Name flowers. Recon I will flip it in a week or so. Currently having some Calc def's and want to get everything level before I start to flower.

Here are some pics of my current veg tent, using a 400 for now, first time I vegged with anything other then CFL's, so looking forward to see what happens. There are 10 Blue \mystic Autos, my YG and Prozack. They are still very short, but really really bushy.

Ok, so had a bit of a move round, and squeezed all my plants into the 3x3 tent under the 400. Re-potted all my auto's into their final pots, and into All Mix rather then light mix.

Water change on my Bubbler and lowered my light, and added more fan...hoping this will speed up veg a little, as I really wanted to have something flipped by now
