Persistent problem with OG kush

Having some trouble keeping my OG's looking green and healthy. Have had problems with them from the start pretty much, both in soil and hydro so I know its not my soil.

Also they are getting the same water/nutrients/soil as my other strains which all look great.

My guess is a deficiency, I can't imagine this is an issue caused by overfeeding but I could be wrong.

Have tried to make my own diagnosis, it would be great if others could share theirs.

Some pics:

Thanks guys!

Are looks like color bleaching dew to the light being to close to the plant bro or calcium magnesium deficiency !

agreed about hard without your ppm's but i can tell you i run my tahoe og between 1000-1200 ppms and she gives me amazing stanky goodness in return.

I don't know Crispy, just posting to empathize. I had an OG Kush last season that grew up looking healthy and beautiful and I harvested when the trichomes were milky white, and that bitch smoked like straw. Every other plant in my greenhouse was quality. Maybe the OG doesn't like high altitude? LOL Good luck!

I had an ogkush from dinafem. It did awesome inside, good smoke, big buds, quality all round,,, but... I cloned probably like 50 cuts or so brought them outside and they failed horribly. As listed, outdoor... I was pissed. Always had good luck with dinafem, awesome strains but this pheno was an indoor for sure. The buds were little, plants were small, and they all started to bud rot. But the blue hash, blue widow, diesel all rocked the house, killer smoke huge plants and fat kholas. I dont really mess with the og kush because of that, I have found a few other kushes I like better.

Yeah sorry guys, should have been more clear about feeding and what not.

When I say I havent been feeding her much I mean like much at all. They were in 6in pots of FFOF and then transplanted into 3gals of organic "super soil"

Gave them a top dressing which is pretty much just fish manure, nothing too strong at all. My water is really soft, ~65 ppm. I would guess cal-mag def. is the problem then. They also have been too far from the lights if anything. Also only given straight water.

So I guess just start giving them CaMg and go from there? The other plants are fine though so does this cut of OG just have heavy CaMg requirements?

@Bugeye this cut definitely doesn't mind the altitude... the person we got it from gets 2+ lbs per light with it and the smoke is killer

Thanks a lot to everyone who responded! Love the grow fam here:eyesmoke:

Ill keep this thread updated with pics and see if the problem clears up..If it doesn't def want to drop the cut...

Don't think it's cal/mag. Supersoil should have plenty of that available in it. Might just be a bit hot for the plants right now.

I would agree but I also forgot to mention the person who gave us the cut keeps it at around 1600ppm during flower. Id say its a pretty heavy feeder. Heavy enough to at least be able to handle the soil as well as the other strains.

BTW, just spotted some kind of white fuzzy mold growing in small patches on the soil?? wtf?? Did I get a bad batch or was it something I did?

I didnt add any extra perlite like I usually do, is it possible it was too moist for too long?

FCKN pissed. Hope this is my fault...

Duuuuude, I just ran og kush from hso as my 2nd(ish) run. Technically I'm calling my big run now my second run, but my og was kind of by itself in between the two. However I did veg it bigger than shit (feel like I've posted these pics a million times but whatever)
image_3.jpgimage.jpgIMG_20131216_202411.jpg

I had (almost) some serious problems in early-mid flower, that didn't get all the way better for weeks. Riknstein told me he ran some og 18s and that he had to pound with nutes, that it drank them up.

My plant was hard to diagnose, bc it was so full that leaves on the bottom were yellowing and falling off, but from lack of light and part of its natural process as it ages ya know, losing the lower ones. But the top leaves (not necessarily tip top, but they could basically be found all over the plant at its worst) were green on parts with yellow, very similar to yours. Not like only yellowing in specific parts of the leaf. I also had some taco-ing going on with the leaves, and I think it was getting too much light that gave an overall yellew to the top.

But when I saw the yellowing in other parts, I thought it was maybe nute burn or pH or something so I started flushing, and it slowly got worse.

Also, notice I had mine in a 20 gallon tote at the end? It was in a #5 smart pot from one company when it first started getting deficient, and I transplanted to a #7 from a different company, and I guess I didn't put enough soil in the bottom bc it was basically the same size.

But yeah, I hated to do it but I had to transplant in flower. Remarkably I still wound up with about 10 ounces- 8 ounces of nugs (no big huge ones, either) and 2 ounces of scraggle bud for wax. Those ogs branch like crazy man, I fimmes mine and topped each top one more time, it should've had like 12-14 tops but it's branches grew so tall that the plant like didn't know what was top and what wasn't. I didn't even realize all the scraggle bud that was forming down in the middle, it all looked solid from the outside (as seen in the pic).

But anyways, yeah I recommend kicking your feeding up a notch, see if that's what it is. I almost had mine back to health just with the heavy feedings while it was still in the smart pot, but that thing begged like 2 1/2 months and it just way outgrew it. It had deficiencies, small leaves/buds, extreme lateral branching- some of the lowest branches literally just stuck straight out like 18 inches, with little buds all along it pointed up trying to get light. If you dig through my old posts I had tons of pictures from about a month ago, and a little longer. I'd post some more but they are on my old phone and I don't have a charger for it.

well how potent was the bud? It looks good/alright. my ogk was not from hso but Im not growing it now. Have to see a much higher quality product b4 I spent the time money and space for mediocre bud inside. it was good but I didnt bother having it tested, wasnt up-to par at all.

Thanks for this! Yeah yours came out great despite the problems. I guess kicking the feeding up is the next logical step. Want to rinse the roots out tomorrow too but not even sure how I would do that since its scrogged.

As for the ones in soil, still don't think theyve been fed. May hit them with some floralicous next time as the guy at my lgs instructed

Thanks again man, ill keep posting pics to update. This strain is a PIA so far. Branchy as a mf too, you're right!

Im with you man, this thing is letting me down so far. Would give it up for a better cut/cross in a heart beat. Only strain giving us problems right now..

is it mycorrhizae? Kind of embarrassed I didn't think of that. Just learned about it this semester :/
Doubt it. Mycorrhizae looks more like strands, from the size of thread, up to about 1mm. That white stringy stuff like you see in old piles of moldy leaves, right on the bottom against the soil. It's color ranges from white to beige to tan, and as far as I know it always underground.

At least you remembered how to spell Mycorrhizae.
