Personally Experienced Strain Recommendations Wanted

Get yourself some Blue Dream, it's the absolute best and most forgiving strain that I've ever grown. I've had a few 2lb Blue Dream plants last year but this time I didn't get as much of a yield because I didn't let them get as big as last year. Just be careful, when people see monsters in your yard they start finding ways to rip you. Anyway, to answer your question, get yourself some Blue Dream seeds or clones for the best outdoor results. Look into some compost tea recipes as well and you'll be set! :)
K. Jazzman's Gal mentioned this strain, and now you have. Being as it's a 90% sativa strain, do you seriously think this is something I could pull off where I'm at? What you're saying about yield is really...'interesting' seems to be a very lame word for how I feel about pulling off 2lb plants on the regular, but you get my point - but what are you doing to pull off plants that big? And where are you located, latitude-wise? What's your climate like? Are those things anywhere near comparable to my own?

my BUKU hermied on me :(

But TH Seeds Wreckage is the shizznit!

I've grown 6 different strains so far this year, and only Wreckage has been worth talking about.
Hermies aren't all bad. Free feminized seeds are a nice bonus. Sucks you lose a plant, but if you have the ability to move it away from the rest of them, and do some selective pollinating, creating feminized crosses is really nice - and you don't lose more than a few grams for doing it...outside the hermie, of course. I love the surprise of creating crosses...long as I'm not expecting anything amazing from them. But I've seen some amazing - and surprisingly stable plants created, crossing myself. And everything I had out this year was a cross, and I have no complaints.

But tell me about Wreckage. And Dream N Sour too, for that matter. Will they finish outside here? When do they finish? What do they produce? What kinda quality? Gimme some specifics. But are you seriously in Jamaica? Because if so, your results aren't gonna be real comparable to where I'm at. You're in a fucking paradise, as far as growing conditions go...

Hermies can be okay, if you have the ability to move them away and do some selective pollination. Kinda sucks loosing a plant to it, but it can be real nice in the long run. Free feminized seeds are a real nice bonus. :) I admit I'm fond of creating crosses, too. I love surprises - as long as I'm not counting on them overly much.

But what about Wreckage? You say it's good, but you've told me nothing about it. Can I pull it off where I am outdoors? When does it finish? What's the potency like? What's the yield? And what are you doing to pull it off?
TH seeds Wreckage is the Sativa dominant S.A.G.E. x Trainwreck cross. It has a beautiful structure and is great for those growers who look to grow large plants with maximum potency (about 60% sativa/40% indica)

It won the Cannabis Cup in 2010 for Best Hybrid

Flowering Time Indoor: 10 weeks
Yield / Quantity Indoor: 200g's per plant under 400w HPS / The crop of this strain is great.
Strength / Lasting Effect: The weed is insanely strong and very long lasting.
Votings of our users: Wreckage gets 9.50 of 10 possible Points in the average!

It comes in 2 phenotypes - the first looks A LOT like S.A.G.E. with long sativa-like leaves and growth, and the other looks more like Trainwreck with LONG & stretchy branches and broader leaves. I ended up with both pheno's last round.

don't know your location, I think it would perform better outdoors, than it did indoors - My problem was that I had too many sativa's that were fighting for light, but if you give it plenty of light and give the roots A LOT of space to grow, then your harvest ill be 10x bigger than my last harvest.

I've got 5 clones of it and THIS TIME everything is going to be perfect.

Dinafem white Siberian is really good, the purps by BC bud depot is also.
Did you happen to realize you've hit the magic post number? ;)

Tell me more. I don't trust anything I read from a seedbank, and rarely do I trust breeders who have their own sites. The two exceptions are Sagarmatha and Mandala. This is why I asked for input from people who've grown the shit themselves. So do you mind giving me some specifics? It'd be much appreciated...

Hey man my swamp tube grow is just a bit south of you at 42N zone 6a. Mandala #1, Holland's Hope and Wonder Woman are my best performers. I have also grown Aurora Indica, White Widow, Swiss Cheese, Kaya Gold and Guerrilla's Gusto. The Mandala #1 really saved me this year from my own mistakes. Mostly not getting the seedlings planted out on time. These plants were set out July 15, about 6-7 weeks late. Plants set out in late May/early June will preflower about mid-July and finish mid-September. The hardy, vigorous and fast growing Mandala and this late warm dry weather made up for it all. Of ten seeds, 7 flowered female. Two were pink and one was purple.

It was my first true outdoor grow and I did a whole lot wrong and still got like 3-4 0z off her. Let's see it grew in miracle grow its whole life, was ridiculously root bound at one point, heat stressed, thirsting to death and harvested 2 weeks early and still produced like that. Only lost maybe 2 grams to mold. I grew the purps by BC bud depot, white rhino and the church by green house this year and the fucking church and white rhino molded to beat hell on me. Not a spot on the purps though

Thanks for taking all the time you did, babe. Much appreciated. This is the kind of response I'm really hoping to get. I like to hear reports about performance in all the pertinent areas; it really gives me a much better insight into a strain, which is what's going to sell me on choosing a new one, in the end.

A couple questions: what was the humidity like during September where you're at? And was 27 (I'm assuming you mean Celsius) a typical temperature for you to reach? I haven't seen anything over 22 in the past two weeks, and there were only a couple of days like that. Most hovered between the 15 and 20 mark, with the nights going down to anywhere between 8 and 12. What were your nights like? Obviously I'm curious because of how these things factor into your lack of mold.

Also, when you say 'Happy Frog,' are you talking about this: Happy Frog Soil Conditioner? And can you say how much of an effect it had? I.e., having a grow where you've used the same strain or - even better - having used clones from the same mother as you did this year, and having not used it, so that you have a point of reference for comparison? I would think that my use of composted cowshit would have a similar effect, but it might be something I'd consider looking into adding in, if the effect of it was going to be pronounced enough to justify it. And out of curiosity, how much is it a bag, and how far does a bag go?

And one last comment: always take your main colas and heavy buds before the small stuff. Always. As I'm sure you know, the plant will put the energy into fattening up the smaller ones on the plant, and if you have good weather, it can definitely make a difference in your final numbers. Mind you, stressing the plant is definitely a factor, too. I wish I could put my plants in my backyard, so I could pick at them every day, but that's just not something I'd even think about taking the chance on doing.
Haven't been here in a while, harvest and all that. I had a nice, detailed response to your questions, , all set up and ready to post, I was just proof-reading for typos and got kicked off -line!! I lost it all!! So, quick answers: I'm American, sorry--was using Fahrenheit. I wanted to let you know how chilly it was getting in the mornings because of your questions about cold and wet, late harvests, etc. Our September was the wettest on record, ever, for this part of Oregon and I didn't have a bit of mold, anywhere. Imagine that! Yes, that's the Happy Frog I used. It's probably too expensive for large-scale operations. Yes, it helped but I need another year to see if it's any better than the manure I used last year. Thanks for the cola advice--no stress apparent on any plants when we did it. The last two harvests, we just took it all down at one time, mature or not, because of rain and cold. There had to be a better way and I'd say my experiment with the smaller buds, including Blue Dream, was a success.

I'll get more detailed when I get on here again, if you need it, and I have a couple of close-up pics of the little buds we left for late harvest from the Blue Dream. I'll find them and post them here, too.

And you should keep us posted on what you decide!!
