Peruvian Seabird Guano Tea

For anyone with experience with compost teas; specifically AACT brewers. What is guano tea supposed to smell like? I’ve made a couple solid batches of non guano tea and they smell sweet and earthy. This tea has an “unusual smell”. The guano itself smells literally like S*** but the tea doesn’t smell that bad. It’s got a lot of bubbles/ froth/ proteins at the top but I’m not sure if it’s still ok to use. Any advice? I dechlorinated the water for 24 hours and the tea has been brewing for about 24 hours.

Regarding smell, if it does smell better than the guano itself, i would use it.
I did some teas with both alfalfa and pelletized guano, and they smell strong, but not bad.

Which ingredients did you use?
Because there are some recipes that can end up with a very strong solution, normally those with quite an amount of both EWC/compost and guano/fertilizer and a lot of brewing hours, like 48 or more.

it’s definitely not a super strong smell. My girlfriend who has a more sensitive nose than me says it doesn’t smell funky at all.
The recipe was:
1/3 cup PSG
1/3 cup High N bat guano
1/3 cup EWC/Compost
5tbs liquid seaweed I use “kelp help”
5 tsp unsulphured organic black molasses
4tbs fish hydrolysate
1/2 cup alfalfa meal
1/2 tsp of SP85 humic

Sounds like a lots of ingredients. Anyways, I would check EC to see if it's not very "hot" and use it.

What size brewee do you work with. I don’t like your ratios or how complex this tea is. I wouldn’t even call it a tea. More of a shot in the dark nutrient solution.

aact: compost, sugars(molasses most common) and air.

sometimes a touch of alfalfa or kelp or fiah emulsions can be beneficial. But to add 4-5 different sources of organic matter seems like your just asking forfor problems.

good compost tea will smell fresh a land earth. Trust your nose. Sour or shit smell stay away from.

Is that the old recipe kicking around from Spaceship Farmer? This is a "Nutrient Tea,"for N-P-K, not a "compost tea" for Microbes. Remember, he says to cut it with water because it will be Hot.

Even if it's not that old recipe, it still looks Real strong and I would definitely not use it full strength. If you're worried, dilute it with plain water to 50 or even 25% strength and try it out.

If it's too weak, you'll get a nice little organic nute boost, but you won't notice anything. and you can go stronger next time.

If it's "Just Right" your leaves will get a nice green color, and they might even stand up and "pray" looking for more light.

If it's just a little "Too Hot," you'll notice slightly burned tips. If it's way to hot you'll yellow off a bunch of leaves overnight, so be careful.
