Pesky little buggers,

Hello i used to come here all the time too look at what other people are doing and mainly just to learn,
but now ive come to find out i have pests,

lower fan leaves have chunks out of them,
i put the cage around it hoping it would deter animals, next step is snake sheddings and a ring of sand 3-5 Inches in thickness,
to stop the slugs,
but now im dealing with aphids, and ants ( seen that one when i seen aphids ) its not really a controlled enviroment so i cant let ladybugs on the fritz,
but i dont wanna go macing my woman with pesticides,
this is my first grow from seedling so bare with,
but any suggestons??

Looks nice and strong to me, get something to deter those ants though, they will eat the roots and the plant at the same time!!!! That you dont want, as far as the aphids go you can not control them outside

Thank you , i have pictures of when i had her under cfls and some t8's ill throw them up later,
and i know i should have probably topped or pruned seeing as purple indica is known for bud rot,
but i wasnt even really expecting yeild from it, and couldnt care less for quality( except i dont want a chem tasting smoke) as it will all be free.
but any recomendations for the ants? without affecting taste?
im waiting for her to start flowering but were just hitting the 13 hours of daylight in Niagara so keeping them crossed but from what ive read purple indica is also a resilient strain

im going out tommorow to give her a taste of some different nutes, right now im using 20-20-20 but i was given something like 26-8-16 and was told its good for flowering. also,
i know the lower shoots will die off as the new growth uses up the nitrogen ( as you can see the N def in them) should i chop em so she wont try and keep pushing nutes to them?? or just let em drop them selves?

You could always try diatom earth from depot. Does wonders. Just put a ring around the base especially around the stem and on the stem. Will cut stuff to ribbons if it tries to crawl across the diatom earth. Just don't inhale or get it in you eyes.

How could you not care about quality? I would rather have fewer buds of good quality over quantity any day.
