Pesticide made my plant smell like cat piss

So after battling fungus gnats I thought I got rid of them, 2 days ago I saw they came back in numbers all over my soil and flying all round my plant and grow room so I decided to buy a pesticide for fruit flies since they larger I thought it would kill all the little bastards.

Anyway the day after I used the pesticide the whole grow room and my kitchen smelled like cat piss, I flushed yesterday and it helped a bit but I'm worried the smell will stay and my budz will smoke like cat piss any suggestions, I'm thinking of flushing again in 2 days but don't have any other ideas

What's the strain?

If you respond with Cat Piss I will LOL!

Seriously, conventional pesticides are not a good idea, but especially on anything you plan to smoke. If you must, use organic pest control.

How old are the plants. More specifically - how far away are you from harvest?

Many pesticides use fermented urine as its active ingredient. It is unlikely the urea can be removed at this point without physically washing the plant with water, this is why it's okay to use on fruits, it can be washed off. Check the back of the bottle, it will have information recommending use before harvest. Something to the effect, "...do not use within 14 days of harvest." It may also have inert data, meaning when the chemicals loose their effectiveness. For example, Seven Dust goes inert after 3 days.

The most effective pesticide for smokable herbs and any plant IMHO is a mixture of tobacco steeped in water. Take 1 cup of water and place in the microwave until it is just warm, not boiling. Get an unflavored cigar and crumble it into the warm water, cover and let stand until the water is room temp. Strain off the particulate and pour into a clean spray bottle and spray away.

Its bagseed and I've got 5-6 weeks more weeks till harvest

its a bit o late for the organic pesticide how often can I flush without causing my plant harm, I'm thinking of misting also, I know you shouldn't when you're flowering

Yeah tobacco spray is remarkably effective. It kills on contact.

My recipe is similar. I simply steep the tobacco in a water for a day or two, until the water turns brownish yellow, strain out the tobacco, add a drop of dishwashing liquid and pour into a spray bottle.

Five or six weeks is good. Rinsing should take care of the problem in that time.

Good luck and good growing.

Oh Yeah! I totally forgot the dish wahing soap trick, definitely a good alternative to synthetic chemicals.

Swazi, since your pant is still veging, tape a trash bag over the soil and put the whole thing in the bath tub. Gently wash the leaves and stalk with cool water and your fingers, I use a hand wand like for washing your dog. I'm happy to hear that you haven't flowered yet, as this offers you a real chance to save your harvest. The bag will divert all the water away from your soil. While the plant is dripping dry, attack your grow space and clean it out.

I use neem oil to prevent, insecticidal soap to kill and also thuricide for the caterpillars. Seaweed extract is also effective as a foliar spray

I've heard neem oil works wonders but its too late all the gnats are dead actually everything is dead apart from the plants, for larger flies my venus fly trap does the business every time and it keeps my ladies company during the day while I'm at work
