okay lets start this off on the right note!!! i am not nor do i profess to be a scientist of any sort and the experiment i have carried out today have been my first. with the exception of my run off test last night,of which i done out of pure curiosity. the run off from my soil was 7.17 which git me thinking what was it going in?
that said here's what i done. first i calibrated my hannah ph pen with a hannah 7.01 buffer solution i then took a reading of my tap water(start point),which was 7.81
i then started to add jiff lemon juice at a rate of 1ml/ltr of tap water until i got to 4ml lemon juice then i took it up to 2ml/ltr
start ph7.81
1ml/ltr= 7.24
2ml/ltr= 6.91
3ml/ltr= 6.63
4ml/ltr= 6.63
6ml/ltr= 6.30
7ml/ltr= 6.09
i then started to add biobizz fishmix which further reduced the ph LJ= lemon juice FM= fishmix all /ltr of tap water.
7ml LJ/ 1ml FM/ ltr= 6.06
7ml LJ/2ml FM/ltr= 5.99
7ml LJ/2ml FM/

7ml LJ/3ml FM/ltr= 5.99
7ml LJ/4ml FM/ltr= 5.97
7ml LJ/5ml FM/ltr= 5.95
then i started to add the biobizz topmax =TM
7ml LJ/5ml FM/1ml TM= 5.92
7ml LJ/5ml FM/2ml TM= 5.90
7ml LJ/5ml FM/3ml TM= 5.89
7ml LJ/5ml FM/4ml TM= 5.87
7ml LJ/5ml FM/5ml TM= 5.86
please do not try this as i have have not tried this on my own grow and i do not want to be flamed or shit on for giving out bad information, my ladies are due an

You need a hobby, or, is this it?

Lemon juice? Great if you are making lemonaide. Not so great if you are using 400+ liters of water at a pop. Which I do.

You use dolomite or garden lime, $5 for a 40lb bag to get your SOIL pH right and save the lemonaid for drinking.

Unless you like to complicate the simple. Stoner science, I guess.

BTW, in soil or mixes, lime IS the natural way. Ask any gardener or farmer.

In hydro and such, citric acid works way better than lemon juice. Cheaper too.

Silica for up

Shit I use anyway......
i use proguard potassium silicate, and heard it raises ph but never seen it. it maybe moves my 75 gallon tub 0.2-0.3 up, how much do you use?

limes good for keeping ph of soil at 7, but wouldnt think its ability to change water ph is very good, or even its ability to disolve in the water, it will take contant stiring and shaking to get it to disolve. would be much easier to add lime to the soil/soiless mix in the begining, and not pay attention to water ph (not advising, just saying) lime in water= waste of time.
and lemon juice is citric acid?

I use protekt silica. roughly 1/2 tsp gal.

If you have a ton of organics in your rez it will affect it.

Run 5 gal of plain tap water in a bucket and then add 2.5 tsp of silica and watch your meter.

It should jump up considerably. I never really have tried to get a set (x) tsp/gal because the amount of organics I use changes....as will the ability of silica to affect ph change.

Really....silica puts me over the top at 1/2 tsp/gal and I use the EJ to back it down to 6.3
