PH dropping since using Dyna-Gro

you have way to small of a rez. Im going to talk out my ass here as I didnt read the thread closely. (dancing with the stars is on). If you are adding a ton of PH Down to counteract the Protect which does boost PH big time then you take away all the water because the plants are drinking to fast because you have a heat or dryness issue, leaving you with over nueted plant burning low PH soup.

get a 20+ gallon rez and be done with your problems once and for all.

is dyna gro supposed to be used directly in the soil or in the outside tub where the water is? and is it ok to eat the leaves after spraying them with dyna gro or if i use dyna gro in the soil. i don't smoke so eat instead i don't want to make anyone or myself ill. my leaves are turning yellow and dying so need to do something and have bought dyna gro and dyna gro bloom liquid. can you help please. thanks.

dyna-gro bases lower ph and protekt raises ph. ur ph is lower after 24-48 hrs because ur using to much ph down to start with. ec falls because the plants are eating it. now u got a cpl choices. use less protekt or use less ph down or use more foilage which will raise ec. i use dyna gro, bloom, magpro and protekt. i mix my water in a seperate res than what is feeding the plants with a few airstones to mix it up. add water, protekt, base in that order and mix well. next adjust ph and let bubble for 5 mins for mixture to stabilize. now adjust ph again if needed. all this is in my opinion but it works for me. i just checked my water that i mixed fri and ph hadnt drifted not a bit. for more info on dyna gro search out homebrewer. hes the man. i hope this helped

YES YES YES what he says, the plants are drinking the shit out of the water and the salts are building up and makeing the PH drop. just get a bigger rez and it will be more stable.

A lot of people juice cannabis leaves (I have never tried). DG should be fine to eat... it's the synthetic pesticides you want to stay away from.

Since this thread I've had ph fun myself using DG bloom + protekt. Same shit... not root rot, everything appears to be 100% spot-on but the ph keeps dropping. I solved the issue by adding a little cal/mag. DG is light on cal because it's formulated for tap water. My tap water is 110ppm and I was getting cal/mag deficiencies. I was thinking I had K deficiency and the plant was nom nom nom when I add ph up or protekt (both K) causing my ph to drop... but adding pk boosters did not help. I switched to GH Flora 3 part and it got a little worse. Once I started running cal/mag with DG shit got a lot more stable and started drifting up as expected.

Also I find I eventually have issues if my water goes over 70* in DWC for a couple days even when running bennies. Aquashield works pretty good and I have cured slime with it more than once. That is one product though where the expiration date really is an expiration date. I even had a bottle that somehow turned sour and had mushy chunks and it fucked my res up pretty nicely. Now I store it in a cool 100% light proof place and it works like a champ.

I solved this in a different way. I know this is an old thread, but I will suggest my solution.

I started adding ful-power fulvic acid. Humates. dyna gro has salts that, when the plant requirements change, cause this. The humates help the plant with nutrient takeup and a variety of cell level processes because they take the salts and envelope them in ways that make them root permeable. The plant gets help in cleaning up its own mess.

Though I live close to the makers of ful-power, bio-ag, I have no commercial connection to this. I paid the 20 bucks for the product. And all the time and worry was so worth it. I love dyna gro. The regimen is easy and the plants are healthy. With this sorted, it is so easy that it is not fair. I love that.

I would've dumped dynagro. This sorted it. And I'm happy with the fulvic, take it fwiw. I'm not selling anything.

The thread is about pH dropping with dyna gro, this sorted mine. The fulvic has also forced me from EC 1.6ish to 1.2 to avoid burn. Way lower than the DG schedule. Even cheaper. Healthy since.
