Ph issues... 3.5 ph runoff

I am using sphagnum peat moss mixed with perlite. My watering mix, nutes, camg+ ph to 5.9. My run-off is coming out very acidic, like 3.5... help!

ive been having some darkspots, some leaves got all crispy and such. I just tested my moist soil's ph (i watered earlier) and about 2 inches deep its at 6.4-6.5 ph there

so.... 5.9 going in, 6.4-6.5 in the soil with a runoff around 3.5

peat moss is no good, i used it and my plants paid the consequences. if you like peat moss, go get some coco coir, they sell it at home depot or they should at your hydro store. look for "beats peat" its pH balanced, which should mean from 6.7-7.2 (hopefully) otherwise go to your hydro store and buy some pH balanced medium like happy frog potting soil. then balance your waters(fertilizer)'s pH as well to like... say 6 even if your medium is 7 then it'll balance out to 6.5 which is good for it. Your problem is a deficiency, due to nutrient lockout most likely. your plant can only absorb nutrients properly when your pH level is at the correct amount. 6.3-6.6 is perfect :) hope this helps

What can I do now though? its at 6.4 inside the moist peat a few inches down.

this is my 1st grow and i just transplanted these clones from their dixie cups into my potters. I'd rather not stress them too much, nor can I afford to buy some fancy mix as of right now. what can i do now to helpthis until ym next planting

Get some dolomite lime from Lowes or HD. Cost ~$5 for a 40lb bag and will take care of your issues, no problem.

I have been growing in peat based mixes for close to 40 years. It's good stuff and easy to work with, as long as you realize it's acidic and must have lime added. This goes for ANY peat based mix, even the fancy expensive ones.

It is simple and cheap to do and often overlooked. That's when the problems start. Lime is the second ingredient added to my mix, with the peat moss being the first.

Get some, just make sure it's NOT hydrated.
