PH meter problem

So I just got a new ph meter for free. Even though the warranty was up they sent me a new one. Should I store it in the ph solution when I'm not using it? What's the best way to take care of it?
Just rinse it off with tap water and put the cap on. I have the same meter as you, decided to keep it after sending three shitty meters back to amazon in the $20 range, they were all uncalibratable out of the box.

i heard pretty much all meters except bluelab start dying after a year. why they only ever warranty them for a year.
probably most people thinking they're dying is from buildup from bad storage but even people i know who are very over the top with meter care seem to have to replace them fairly regularly.

It is not the meter that dies after a year but the probe. If your in it for the long haul, buy a meter that has a probe that is replaceable and not a pen or integrated unit. FYI. People here seem to think "pure" water has a ph of 7. On paper perhaps, but if it is in contact with the atmosphere no. CO2 dissolves giving a ph of 5.6 at theoretical saturation and equilibrium.
