Ok, so i was testing my ph in the res this morning and saw the ph at 4.8. Inittially i was like wtf is going on here so i added ph up rechecked and then noticed the pen is broke(of course i notice this AFTER adding ph up). So im about to head out to the fish store and try and find some aquarium ph strips until i can get over to the hydro store tuesday. Any other backup ideas you can think of please throw them my way. Muchos Gracias!

i have the blue lab ppm and ph pen, they are nice. also i have the PH buffers 4.1 and 7, and also the conductivity test kit and the probe cleaner. this all costs around 260$, but worth it IMO

I bought a great PH pen off Ebay for under $10. Came with calibration solutions and everything. It is as accurate as my $300 Ph probe, can beat that.

i have pissed away over $200 on ph pens. Expensive and cheap have both shit the bed on me.

My $7 drip test never fails and does not need to be calibrated. I was using it to calibrate my expensive ph tester (now trash) and realized why not skip the tester and use the drips?

If you are not color blind they can be quite accurate.
