ph question

I was going to use Fox Farm Big Bloom Fertilizer, but I was wondering if the water ph should be at around 5.9-6.5 after I've added the fertilizer? Does this matter? Thanks!

YES it does matter a lot AND you are right the pH should be around 5-7
if the pH isnt right your plants might die
i check my pH every 2 weeks with a digital pH reader always gotta keep watch

As long as the ph is where it needs to be, nute/water ratio doesn't matter.

So is it okay to use a ration of 1 tbl nute : 1/2 gal water (ff chart says 2:1)? This is what I used, and still some ran out the bottom of the pot.

The mix should be fine. A little runoff is normal. Just let the plant soak up what it wants from the catch tray and empty the rest a few hours after watering.

I've read that alot of people use ff Tiger Bloom along with Big Bloom. I am just using bb. Do you think that I will get decent results with just big bloom, or should I use tiger bloom with the bb?

I would stick with one for now. That way if you hit a nute problem, it will be easier to find the problem and fix it. Stick with the bb on this grow, tb on the next, both on the next. So on and so forth. Experiment to find your best combo. I personally haven't used either but I have seen the BB in action and it works.

Thanks alot. I noticed on the back on the bb it says to do 4tbs nutes:1gal water per watering. But on the ff website it says 2:1. Which do you think I should use? This is my first grow, so I have no idea about nute:water solutions.

i would go with what the table says the ntrient company doesnt always know that we are growing cannabis , which is A LOT different form other plants....

start 1/2 strength and work your way up. It will all work out.

Hey thanks. Also, I have 4 42w CFL's on 2 plants. There is one light 3 inches above each plant, and then another light higher above those (like the set up in the book, Buds For Less). Do you think that this is too much light/heat for plants that are 17 days old? I had some minor problems with heat before, and some of the first leaves got burned very badly. I fixed that problem, but some of the edges are turning down. Do you think I should only use 1 CFL for each plant that this stage and wait for the other 2?
