So my ph goes in at between 6.4-6.2 and comes out 5.4-5.7 is that like a good run off point
agreed. Id never measure run offI think that would mean your soil is even lower. I also think runoff ph can be a little misleading in soil.
I dont have a ppm.meter and im using rapid start floranova bloom a lil cal mag and bud candy lol i only did.the cal mag once thoI would say it is like a good runoff. What do your nutes say soil ph should be? I guessing it should be around 6.5. If you're close and you don't see any problems, then I would say push it until you see your max then back off. What are your ppm?
I started to have problems (lockout) when runoff went below 5.4. You should also check your runoff ppm.So my ph goes in at between 6.4-6.2 and comes out 5.4-5.7 is that like a good run off point
i never even think about checking r/o ph, unless plants are displaying issues.PH in soil is like the boiling point of rice in a compost pile, it Means nothing. If you have a good soil then you don't ever have to worry about PH.
Ya i need a ppm meter bro forsure i will get one next friday but thats very good advice u have given me thank u man the only reasone i ask.is cuz it looks like i jave N problems new growth is slow and tips are bent downI started to have problems (lockout) when runoff went below 5.4. You should also check your runoff ppm.
Measuring runoff isn't accurate because it depends on how long the water sat in the soil equalizing, and how much new water displaced the runoff (potentially diluting it). You can google for NCSU Pour-Thru Method to see why these two factors are important. (To accurately test runoff takes an hour.). And, after you have your soil and nutrients dialed in, you shouldn't have to measure runoff. If it's dialed in, it's a waste of time.
But, when you're starting new soil/nutes, I think it's invaluable to measure runoff. However, only if you start measuring from the beginning and can watch the trend. While an individual test may not be accurate, seeing it go lower in flower can definitely save you some headache by flushing, cutting back nutes before the plant starts exhibiting lockout.
I don't measure it anymore. Sometimes I'll measure runoff ppm because I know 1250ppm (hannah scale) is when I start having trouble. By measuring ph and ppm when I worked out my problems, I could see a direct correlation between ppm and ph. PPM would rise to 1200 as ph dropped to 5.6, 1240 occurred about the time 5.4. 1280 was like 5.2 (and plant didn't look as good).
Those numbers may not be the same for you. For me, I'll occasionally check runoff ppm and I have a good idea where the soil ph is (whether I'm over feeding). I might randomly test the runoff ph, but I don't need to because things are pretty much dialed in and runoff ppm is good enough.
Im using roots organic 707 i hate this shit! I wanna go back to sunshine 4 and royal gold im jist womdering cuz a few of my fan leafs are showing N problems just a tad claw
I only feed with nutes every third water sine my babys are small but this is it i did some thinking and im sure i just over watered these are two grape stompers cut from a plant in its first week of flower so as soon as it has a good root.system it goes straight into flower....Your using Bloom food and Bud Candy ? How far along are you ? Get some pics of this cash cropper up in here.
Ya its cuz im not happy with the results ive been.getting im going to hydro next time around fuck soil or soilless im sick of the problems it gives meAlot of stuff for soil mate....
Haha well thats what i want! Im just tired of not being able to water my girls and always having to wait for soil to dry and its just a pain in the ass if the soil ph is off i gotta fix that and its just all to much so i want to go to DWCYou think soil gives to many probs ......hydro needs alot more care and attention.....
