Ph swings. Does root rot/bacteria prefer high or low ppm water?

I ask because after dealing with ph dropping constantly and deciding to flush with straight RO water as an experiment, for the first time in about a month my res didn't drop 1.0-2.0ph and instead slightly raised maybe .2-.4ish. Any ideas as to wtf I got going on? Thinking was carbonic acid or something but with the straight RO water for 24 hours, it didn't lower ph despite my air pump. Every other nutrient concoction i've made drops ph overnight severely. Also I found bugs in the rapid rooter my plant was growing through but it's mature enough i decided to finally rip the rooter out because i don't see bugs around the plant elsewhere.

Bugs in the rapid rooter is not good. Possible Root Aphid infestation. And root aphids cause major root rot. Can you post a pic of the bugs?

Medium?
What nutrients?
PPM?
Plant growth stage?
Room Temp? RH? Water temps?


That's the main areas of info that can help identify the source of your ph swings.

What water were you using for your base water initially ?

How much RO have you used the whole grow ?

What did you use to test pH

What did you use to lower pH

What nutrient products are you adding
