Ph two too low...

So I just realized that my water, which was previously consistently neutral, is now much lower. About 4-5 ph. So my question is, what would the effect on cannabis plants be? My understanding is that PH has an effect on how well plants can take in nutrients, but specifically to cannabis, I don't know what to expect.

Basically, at this point, I've adjusted, but I want to see if what I've ended up with is just a result of PH or if there's other things I need to adjust.

I have some browning on the top leaves but had assumed at first that was because it was too close to the HPS lamp that I swapped in when I forced flowering, but now I'm thinking it was possibly the PH.

Anyway, anuy input, thoughts or theories are much appreciated.

Improper ph balance has a few negative effects and symptoms. Nute lock occurs in most cases also some trace elements will be in deficiency or excess either way not good. PH imbalance in flowering can cause shock, hermies, can effect yield and potency etc.

But to aid in diagnosis of your particular issue a lot more info is needed...Pics, set up, temps, rh, medium, nutes, feed/water schedule etc.

Vinegar has a ph of 3... Seriously doubt your water is that acidic. Are you using a ph pen & if so did you calibrate it? Digital ph pens need to be set with calibration solution & some need to be stored wet to stay accurate. Make sure it's not your meter before doing anything. I prefer the drops only for this reason but honestly soil growers barely need to worry about ph. If you are in soil your ph should be balanced already if you used a bagged mix. This link might help:

The attached photo is washed out from the light, but you can se some of the tips burned etc.
Grow is in a small tent, temps average 70-75°, but got thrown off by the HPS and was as high as 85° on that first day, and part of the next. Down to about 60° at night.

I'll read through the info at the links, but if you have any other ideas, let me know. Again, my primary concern was if there was anything else I need to consider, or if fixing the pH is likely the whole solution. Don't want them to go bad at this point! Thanks again!

Odd drops or raises in pH over short periods normally are caused by pH meter batteries not working, in my experience.

If you have well water, your filters need changing. If it's city water, there is a major problem. I would contact my water company and get information on what's up, because that water should be 7.0. Tell them your fish are dying, you checked your water and the PH is wacked. What can I do? It might just be a short term problem with the water company.

Thanks everybody. To be clear, the drop wasn't necessarily sudden, I checked it a couple times several years ago, and then just checked it now since I was having a problem. How do I calibrate the meter to be sure though?
