How much PH down do you guys use per gallon for a neutral tap water at 7? I just put a pinch in and it dropped to like 4.9. I guess I have to ease up. And if I grow in Fox Farm Ocean Forest and I PH my tap water do I have to add anything else to the soil or is that it?

thanks guys I am a NOOB

3-4 Drops per Gallon approximately.. i used to guess like that all the time, i just tried 1, 2, 3 etc drops and watch the new foliage turn healthy green once i got about 3 drops. Takes a few weeks to fine tune it that way. It depends on the PH Down & Up Strength. I use General Hydroponics PHup&down

u can use lemon juice to bring down waters ph and bakeing soda will bring it up ,u should just work on expermenting with yr water till u got it down to what u want .now as for the ph up solution it takes a lot ime i used 45 drops in a gallon of water to bring the ph down to 7.0 from 7.5

water is different from different sources; just because source A starts @7.0 pH and it takes 3 drops of acid to take it to 5.8 pH doesn't mean water source B will react the same. it could start @ 7.0 pH add 3 drops and be at 6.9 pH.

blah blah blah lol...different water sources have different buffering capacity.
