Honestly I haven't tried starting my seeds in FFOF since I've been adding extra perlite.....I had some pretty bad babies burn in the past using FFOF from the start....so I just said fuck it and go light warrior for a few weeks and then into the FFOF...it works well and I don't have any issues.....plus, a bag of light warrior is cheap and will start a shit load of solo cup seedlings for me ....not saying your wrong at all ....that's just my experience ...so it's just my method nowadays ....I'm more pissed about the quality of the FFOF soil the last 2 years TBH ...it's not cheap when running large smarts in green houses.....I don't mind paying for quality soil ....but I literally have a bag of rocks and sticks I've pulled out of the soil this year ....Big rocks ......I'm actually very pleased with my first attempt at recycling .....and pleased with the 707 mix as well ....very pleased actually ....and I've always loved the FFOF ....but lately I'm a lil dissatisfied .....that's just my opinion .....and like butt holes ...we all got one ......happy growing
I take it you order bulk. And you said it would be the eastern processing center right?
I would be getting mine from there too and I think hat is where the new "all Naturals or what the bag now says. I remember when it changed.
I have seen very little in the way of uncomposted bark or any sticks to really mention in any ocean forest. But funny enough the one bag of light warrior I bought from a hydro store a few years ago had part of a finished piece of wood in it. Like a chunk from a table or something.
Just to mention. I am not stuck on it. And I have some options not too far for out here now. I really might go back to pro mix and start experimenting with some amendments in a couple pots to see where it takes me.
I was thinking of even just trying dry organic fertilizer first. Maybe a late topdress. I sure would love to be able to just water the plants without mixing individual gallons for the perpetual.
That is why I use the amended soil. So I only water in veg but maybe one time with nutes.
