Phantom 1000w Digital Ballast 240v/120v into 120v Outlet

Hey I've tried searching around and Im just trying to figure out exactly what to do. I have the phantom 1000w 240v/120v dim able and it has the 240v style plug. I see that hydrofarm sells a 120v adapter for it here -

is that even safe to power it up with a normal 120v? Or does the ballast recognize that its only 120v and powers it up accordingly? What are my other options besides wiring up a 240v plug? Is there a quality 120v 1000w ballast? (all the lumateks and quantums are 120/240)

I really appreciate any timely responses so I can possibly exchange my ballast if I need to

I was looking at the Quantum 120/240 and it comes with a 120 plug, is that the way to go? Am I loosing power, efficiency or light output by using a 120v? I was reading about lumateks and phantoms that blow up, sounds sketchy.

I believe If you get the adapter it will work.... When you use a 120v plug It just uses more amps. Like when a 1000w is plugged into a 240v socket, it pulls around 5-6amps...But the same ballast plugged into a 120v will pull around 9-10amps....

I have a hypotek 1000w dim-able ballast. It came with the 240v cord and the 120v cord. The manual said to just use the cord that fits you socket. So I assume yours is similar..

Hope this helps
