Photontek SQ300W Pro gift

Someone ordered a Photontek SQ300W Pro christmas gift for my new tent. The problem is this tent is an AC Infinity 24”x24”x72” tent. The light dimensions are 22.08'' x 22.08'' x 2.82''.

The adapter of the light is also a tiny bit wider than the light itself.

I have 2 questions. One am I going to burn my tent down because the edges of the led or the adapter will be literally touching the tent?

And second, provided I can keep the heat it generates in check (I wasn’t able to find out how hot this runs in reviews) is this even doable? Like to use the power of this light in such a small tent without damaging the plant?

cool gift..

Thats pretty tight,, i dont know, ive never grown with a l.e.d. or in a tent before, but id think if its vented at the top of the tent and enough air moving acrossed it might be cool enough.. dont go by what im thinking though..lol.. that tight im still not still not sure how safe it would be.. there's alot of tent growers here so im sure someone will have a solid awnser for ya..

That’s a good point, seems to be an expensive light for 300W so it should have a solid build and dissipation.

In the future I will put this in a 3x3 and just keep the 2x2 for vegging with the ts1000.

I have one in a 3x3.
The light will fit just fine,
The power chord plugs in the side,
It may push out the side of the tent a little,
But I think it will be alright.

I have only been running mine at 75%, vegging out a scrog.
My grow room is 72 F and it has only raised my temperature to 75,
with a 6 inch oscilating fan running.
Between you adjusting your height and dimmer,
You should be able to dial it in and grow some beauties.
Enjoy your gift ( its a great light) and Happy Growing.

Photontek has a good reputation 300w ain’t about to burn anything down. Honestly think you should just grab a cheap 3x3 tent though, plenty of light for it and double the space = double the yield
