Blueberry adds the flavor and terps GSC always needed heheh. Just started germinating 5 days ago. I used the wet paper towel method. Took 3 days to germinate. Then I planted them in solo cups and two days later they are popping out of the soil. That is up to date for now, but I plan on a detailed journal this time with plenty of pictures.

The seedlings look nice but i stopped looking at blurple lights.
Turn them off to take photos.

-Day 26, November 14th

First LST. I pinch the stalk just enough to hear it crack. Then slightly bend it over. I will do this a lot on the whole veg cycle to anything that grows too high. I try keeping all cola sights exposed. I can get Colas to grow out of the colas.

Have been giving general to light feedings of Fox Farm Big Bloom Organic worm castings and guano, CalMag, and just 1 dose of Kangaroots to this point. IMG20221114120219.jpg

-Day 30, November 18th

Things are really picking up here. My grow tent's main zipper broke so I bought a new AC Infinity 4x4 grow tent. Amazon took an extra 3 days to deliver and was killing me because I needed to start trellis netting on my first LST.

Only 4 days later than the last pic

Just three days later and the colas where beginning to grow through my trellis net I strategically placed. This is where heavy LST takes place. I want the plants to spread out to fill as much space as possible. An important thing to keep in mind is a photoperiod plant doubles in size when you switch the lighting to flower. You have to strategically switch to flower so you can keep everything under control.

The very next day they respond beautifully to all the pinching and bending.

As I'm getting close to switching my plants to flower and having a new light, the Vipar KS5000, I wanted to talk about daily light integral (DLI) and lighting.

We all know PAR is photosynthetic active radiation. DLI is the total amount PAR in a day. The total amount of light they get in a day is more important the how intense the light is. DLI can be a difficult equation but I will give you an easy example. You can use this super easy DLI calculator click here

750 PAR x 16 hours = 12,000 (DLI 43.2)
1000 PAR x 12 hours = 12,000 (DLI 43.2)

For marijuana our sweet spot is 43.2 DLI. To achieve this we go to our manufacturer's PPFD map and pull as best we can from their results. Always keep a measuring tape handy. I have learned from all my experiences and years of growing using HPS or even blurple leds, the leaves will "taco" or "canoe" up to block the light when they are receiving too much light. If you see that your DLI is way too high.

I will give you my light's map for example. They almost make it fool proof with the provided recommendations. The recommendation for vegetative stage is 28" and 75% power. This gives 600 PPFD in the middle and a little to be desired. So I make a logical choice and hang it 25"-26" to get it closer to 750 PPFD. If the leaves canoe. Back the light off etc.

LST is at every other day. I have added my second trellis net 6" - 8" above the first. I let the first net act as a support for the flowers to lay on. The second net is my cut off. I will not let anything get beyond this point. Knowing they double in size when switched to flower, I try to predict how much it will fill when they bloom. Switching to flower soon and can't wait. Haven't fed them in a week. Only water because PPM in runoff has been high.

Notice how fast they rebound and respond to the LST pinching and bending? It makes the growth slow where you want it and strengthens the area when healed.

I have that light coming on Monday. Saw your amazon review so I came here to check it out.

Your training skills are impressive. You are definitely on top of things.
Thanks man. It's a good light. Detachable driver is nice to keep the heat out of the tent. But that is half of the battle. The other half is in the rhizome. Dechlorinating, pH balancing nutrients after it's mixed up, PPM, EC, etc.

The scrog method is best for small spaces imo. It will shape the way you want like a shrub sculpture, but you have to spend a lot of time training, tucking, or topping, daily.
