Photoperiod for vegetation

Is there any benefit to having a dark period for vedging such as 24/7 light as opposed to 18/6 (L/D). I know many people have the lights on 24/7 during vegetation. But I've heard some say that there needs to be a dark period for vegetation so the plants can store up nutes. Sort of re-charge themselves.

You will get different opinions on what works better but honestly, you dont get anymore bang for the buck doing 24/0 compared to 18/6. About the only thing you get is a larger electric bill.
