Hey, I discovered my timer had had a malfunction and did not shut off.
by the time I was aware of this I had an extra 3 hours.
I had a 15 hour night.
I am hoping the ladies don't turn hermi or stop budding.
Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Don't panic. Happens all the time. I once had the light on for 36 hours due to timer fuck up. And carelessness. Shouldn't cause any real issues.

A lot of people here (Qwisoking for one) say that light leaks get blamed for hermies when the problem often lies elsewhere. Perfect scapegoat.

As I say. Don't worry. It's done now. No point in stressing about it.

Sweet, yea light leaks are a bitch but a grower has to be thorough, check and double check.
Thanks again!

From what i've read, it seems interrupting the Dark period can be problematic, but you can do some crazy things with the day period, such as people running one 12 hour night per 24-36 hour day. "People say" (grain of salt) as long as you give them a sufficient uninterrupted dark period, they'll be fine.

Cannabis has been growing outside in natural conditions, under the light of the moon, for a very long time. Not sure why a tiny "light leak" would be a problem. Maybe it has something to do with strains becoming acclimated to indoor environments and "perfect dark" conditions, instead of the moonlit dark nights being good enough.

If i ended up with a little bit longer day period, i wouldn't worry; i'd just adjust the schedule (if feasible) to give them a full 12h night afterward, and maybe try to stagger it back/forward (depending) by an hour each day, to get the schedule back where i want it, with minimal disruption.

It's the hormone build up during dark hours that triggers and sustains flowering, as I understand it. A little disruption should be OK. But not too much!
