hey

looking for input on the schools out there to get certs and have them build a resume for u

i am all self taught for the last 5 years i know my skills are good enough to get me added on to any grow as a mid lvl grower (still need genetic exp to call myself master)

but i want to use a good school so i can get certs tune skills to final part .....have they write me up a resume (as u see english and me do not get along) .......drop those off and let the ppl call me back instead of hussling self and skills with just chemical read outs of my plants for the last year

Any college offering a botany degree would be a good place to start imo.

If you understand all plants, you will understand cannabis better, and be able to apply what you have learned to her
college is out of the ? i am 36 ........i am not looking to spend on classes i have no need for to take classes i want to take
i understand the plant well enough ....i grow autos making 10 oz in soil and 26 oz in hydro

i am more looking for someplace to just breeze tho the courses in less then 40-80 hours .....then they spend a few days making up a growers resume based off the scores on the test and my chemical read outs for the last year of growing .....done 15 strains over the year and increase the THC 5% from the original base plants

I an personally going the college route tho. Age doesn't matter, we are about the same age. Just my preference tho :bigjoint:
that's the route I took. although when I went to school I had no idea I would ever be interested in growing cannabis. I like your approach though. my feeling is if an applicant knows enough about botany, entomology and plant diseases also soil science then he's be a better fit.
anyone can grow weed but a guy who can grow anything is worth more.
I am personally looking for a related job and would have no problem relocating, hint hint.
There needs to be a classified section so I can get the word out.

I agree with both going to college and networking. You can actually get all the education you want and need right here on the RIU. As fucked up as this place is there are some seriously respectable growers here. And the e-books are awesome resources. Thing is you have to pick the right people and words to follow because just like everywhere on the innerwebz there is a ton of bullshit out there to weed through. No pun intended. Plus I have found that there are endless ways to cultivate canabis and it all depends on what your objective it to pick a style.

Me, I have refined my methods to be a no brainer and easy as hell, fast without putting much effort into it. Keep in mind my methods are for personal not commercial so my way would not apply to your objective of becoming a master grower. And I know for a fact I grow dank that is comparable to or even better than Colorado dispensary top shelf. Not all top shelf mind you I am sure there is better out there that I haven't tried but, if I sold my weed people would be begging to pay $20 a gram. $10 if it's seeded. And it only gets better as I try the always improving genetics from quality breeders. It's really as easy as 1 2 3 with the right genes. Or it can be as complicated as you want it to be.

Breeding. I can chuck pollen lol. But, yeah. That's a whole different ball game and I think it would require education and experience to become a quality breeder. Personally, I will never pursue that level because the breeders just have everything amazing that I want and it just keeps getting better and better.

Anyway. I think the networking might open you up to sourcing knowledge and perhaps good genes to work with. So I would do that anyway even if you decide to take a few college courses.

commenting on the networking part

while i was in Oregon that is all i was doing when i was on my free time (went there to do some work and help out a nice lady in her op)

but my lvl of knowledge was impressing most everyone i meet i did have a chance to meet one of the top growers in the area but as i was there off the books i did not want to intro myself under a lie as i am looking to get out of the illegal into the legal

one night i went out to a video game bar (classic pinball and arcade games from the 80s 90s).....good beer espresso stout ....sitting out back having a smoke and a joint talking with some ppl one of them was the day manager at one of the bigger shops (they hosted a few contest in there area) and i was talking to her about what the shop does and looks for ....just my knowledge of the plant and tricks to get the best out of them got the nice lady i came to see contracts to fill orders

i am really looking for someone to give me a resume write up so i can use my knowledge to get the job ......the schooling certs are just ways i can quickly prove i have the knowledge i say i do (but what one is going to be honored by someone looking to hire as no standards are in place for it )......to cover my ass i was thinking of doing 2 that have actual labs on a school site and one online (cover the rules for CO OR WA and DC) like DC u have to have a ethical cert to work there

my self learning teaching has reached a point where i can no longer advance where i am ........i need room i need lab space that is no any where near the cash crops paying for me to do this ..

a site that would give and file the paperwork for me to work in all the weed legal states would be killer

When working for an established weed company they will fill out all the paperwork for you. All our hires need here in Cali is the standard new hire paperwork, w2 and such. Color and wash may have specific requirements.

You could try to get an internship or just work for cheap for the best company you can find. Find someone who is killing it, learn as much as you can from them. Who has won prizes in local cups? Who has dispensaries with a line out the door? Work for someone who has their papers in order, it's 2016 no need to be underground anymore. In my area it's a license from my county.

If college takes too long, I hear you there, although I got my masters at 37! Never too old to learn. Another good option depending on your location is find a greenhouse grow, that grows conventional! People who churn out tomatoes or cut flowers can teach you a lot, and you'll learn things most pot growers don't know yet either. Many of the big firms opening up are hiring folks from conventional greenhouses. Biggest firms in Colorado and Canada both fired their master growers who had decades in pot, and replaced them with guys from the geranium and houseplant industries. Their yields went up and quality improved. The change in size of the project changed the skill set, and the pot growers didn't have the knowledge for large scale production. As pot farms scale up in size it's important to have the good habits practiced by the pros, things change when moving from the basement to a 20,000 sq ft greenhouse.

Google deliflor chrysantheum - check out some of their videos, that tech is coming for our industry over the next few years. Knowing how to use those machines will guarantee you a killer job.

thanks .........and i know about scaling up

i am more then able to say i do not know something willing to learn and try experiments to improve my product ........the end goal is my own shop and brand then market the biz plan and collect 5% from shops in my chain ....retire to a south seas island with monkeys that fling their poop at ppl i dislike

i have a local person where it is legal they already want me to partner up with them ....just do not have 20k in cash to go i only sell enough to fill a demand i bank maybe 300 a month once all bills are settled up

i know some of there trick but it goes against so much to grow a plant that tiny and farm them like that using clones ....i know gives the best results for large market sales but i can not force myself to do it ......i rather grow a 10 foot monster under the right conditions .....and to use seeds so the genetics put out are not locked down to a few strains (2 and half months run a strains change over to new batch

ppl still are fallowing the idea photo plants are the best choice ........but in this market with so many stores auto plant is much better choice for a rec sales as the strains are always changing u can tune into the flavor profile for the area keeping the best sellers mixing in new types (the cost of a seeds is little less then the cost of cloning on a per base as long as the seeds are selling for about 9 and under)

photos will be the best choice for medical users as it has more terepenes to help ppl .....but that is like 1/3 of the total sales it is rec sales that pay for the bills

This. Unfortunately it makes it difficult for the normal, intelligent, non arrogant guys to get their name out. It's almost like if you're not shouting your own name from rooftops, you must not be good.... I'm a humble guy, only talk about my shit if someone asks, but I wish I wasnt sometimes. I'd love to start at the bottom of any cannabis operation. I have many tangible skills and education from the "real" world that correlate.

i think if you grow good shit you don't have to do a whole lot of work tooting your own horn. people that are into weed are typically into good shit, and word gets around.

I agree and I think if I was in oregon or somewhere legal it'd be a different story. I live in an area where I have some of the better stuff in town(I've Been told), but definitely can't widely distribute or make it a local way of life. Relocation is necessary.
