:mrgreen::mrgreen: Ok now that i got yall here with my pics from google i have a few questions:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Ok, I will be starting my first DWC grow in about 1 month and Ive been doing tons of research and have, for tha most part, all the information i need, I just have a few more specific questions that i need answered before i go out and spend all my money.

Alright well i bought a 9 gallon low profile dwc bucket off the internet about a month and a half ago, i tried to start to grow in it but i couldnt get the ph right, i only had the Ph strips and they were hard to read, and i just didnt have all the "tools" i needed to start the grow so i cancelled the grow before i even started.

So now i got a little more money and im thinking of investing in a 1000 watt hps/mh light(for maiximum yield) with a carbon scrubber and inline fan hooked up and exhausting out of the room to bring the heat down in my small 2ft x 3ft x 7ft tall closet, and using two or three 5 gallon buckets(1 plant per bucket) for flowering and maybe using a screen about 2 feet above them to get the most out of the small space.

Alright, so what i need to know is: is 1000 watts for that grow space a waste of money? Can i jus use a 600 watt and get the same results?

Also, im making the 5 gallon buckets from scratch and was wondering if its the same just to cut the hole for the net pot in the lid and just have maybe 1 hole next to it or something and syphon the old water out, with a long hose of course so i dont end up drinking the water, and using another 5 gallon bucket to add nutes and test ph and ppm, then just syphon it right back into the other bucket. And of course have a hole on the side of the bucket for the air line. Its the same thing right, just more work??

And also with the buckets about air pumps and stones, With the pumps its 1 watt per gallon right?? And about airstones, does it realy matter which ones i buy, or are they all the same??

Also, if i start the seeds out in 3 inch net pots can i transfer them to 6 inch net pots without dameging the roots?? and if so, how do i go about doing that??

And 1 more thing Co2?? yes or no??

Lol never seen anybody pull the "pics from google intro" pretty funny man thanks for the entertainment.... And where the hell did you find a "9 gallon low profile DWC bucket" cuz the biggest buckets I've found where the 7 gallons. My 5 gallons are getting a bit tight.

Anyways 1000 watts would be 166 watts/sq ft. in your lil closet. I wouldn't go over 100 watts/sq ft a lot of people stay around 50 watts/sq ft. I've heard of someone growing in a 3 x 3 space with a 1000 but they were experienced and had a clean set up plus it was just an experimental run to see if it could be done. Technically you would probably get less bud with a 1000 because it will produce enough heat to easily get your closet up to 100 degrees w/o taking extensive cooling measures. A 600 watter is good for a square meter [~11sq ft] but I've seen people fit 600s in small spaces like yours with success even a 600 would be cutting it real close tho and you will need an air cooled hood and a 400+ cfm inline fan at the least to keep it cool. A 400 watt light would be the most practical for your area but a 600 is possible and would get you more bud.

I just take a drill bit the size of my airline and make a neat cut about 1/2in down into the top edge. I put the airline in the cut and the lid covers it. Just buy an extra bucket and set your lid w/ net pot on it while you adjust ph or pick up your res bucket to poor it out to change out your water. You could also easily add a drain valve to the bottom of each bucket. Dont syphon nutes they're bad for ya and its not necessary although it would be quite funny [youtube video?].

1 watt per gallon is basically cool based on container size so 5 watts per bucket. Deep water innovations micro pore diffusers are by far the best airstones. They provide very small bubbles and dont clog. A lot of people also use cheap airstones and just switch them out with new ones halfway through the grow.

I would start with the net pot you will finish in so u dont damage roots unless u have a cloner with 3in holes look into 3in neoprene inserts you can easily switch from these to whatever you want.

co2 is good but I recommend spending your money on building a proper system. Its all about priorities. Get it right first then if u want to add co2 why the hell not.
