**PICS** Is it harmful to trim some leaves off in flowering?

Some will disagree with me but this is the rule I use

Never remove any foilage unless it is more than 50% dead. Leaves are the solar panels, the more there are then the more energy can be absorbed to make big fat buds. If you want light to get to the lower branches then you train those branches (Low stress training LST) to grow out wide or move aside the upper canopy so light get through.

Like I say some will disagree

What krustofskie says is very true.

Here is the other side, if you were wondering... You can remove leaves at any time whether or not they are dying. People remove them to keep from shading the rest of the plant, however LST is the WAAAAAY better option. I've heard you can remove up to 50% of the leaves at any given time on a plant and it will heal. It could possibly shock it, or turn it hermie... Also, like Krustofskie said, the leaves are the powerhouse for the plant, so removing them will def stunt growth and cause smaller buds. But the plant will grow. I didn't LST and just removed leaves all the way to the base of the stalk, just to keep the plant from being shaded. I did this the whole first month of veg.

Here are a few pictures of that plant before and after. It's around 1 week and 5 days till harvest of this plant...

Also, as a side note... There were no nutes used during the whole time of this experiment. I tore off fan leaves ever since the start, and only watered when dry. I know it's small, but it was an experiment to prove that it could be done. I will only LST from now on.

For real though, unless you are totally not going to LST, just let it grow. Don't remove the leaves. I was only showing that it could be done.

because its nowhere near ready.

:?

I thought is supposed to be harvested around the 8 - 9 week flowering time... I am expecting a jewlers magnifying glass sometime soon so I can examine the trichs. I was going to wait to harvest it until all the trichs have turned cloudy/amber.

If it takes longer than 9 weeks and the trichs are clear, then I will just have to wait it out, correct?

I understand that, Luda... However, don't you think mines the way it is because of no nutes, it's a cfl grow, and I stunted the growth because of the leaves being removed? It's most likely almost done, just very small because of the circumstances
