I have a lux meter but with the 3k cobs and 3500k boards if they match I either need to run the boards at 20w or the cobs at 160 per 3, the 3k is nowhere near as bright as more red. I would use that if they were all the same spectrum
Thanks
Hmm! That's strange!
I did not see such high differences between 3 and 3,5k spectrum. Less than 5% usually...
Nevertheless, I would turn up the boards first, because they have the better distribution, and then turn up the COB's until it looks uniform. But I think you already do that....

So iv spread everything out now so it’s not so cramped into a frame that is 1mx1m so the cobs are roughly 16 inch’s on centre with the boards in the centre, I think I’m going to source another driver so I can run the boards at 300w and then 100w or more to each set of 3 cobs.

Seems much more even spread of lux at least now not so many hotspots on the meter

How it looks now.

My design of a remote driver/limited height fixture. Yeah, theIMG_0371.JPG IMG_0382.JPG IMG_0380.JPG IMG_0376.JPG various SMD strips and boards are a better choice for limited height but I put this idea in my head 2 years ago and couldn't get rid of it until I built it.View attachment 4075792 View attachment 4075794 View attachment 4075795 It consists of Mean Well HLG-120H-C1400B driver, Citizen CLU048-1818 3000K 90CRI CoB, 16 inches apart, MechaTronix IceLED 550 active heat sink. 160W at the wall, includes MW APV-12-12 fan driver.

Here is my latest build, the cobs are warm white cheapo's, 100 watt chips, 3500ma max, running at 1400ma. Still need to get the dimmer hooked up. Next up are 2 similar except using luminous cmx 22, going to 9" spacing on the cobs and an A drivers.

I've been working on designing my own custom LED grow light for the past couple of months. Here is some pix of my prototype: Sproutly LED.
  • 100w multi-color LED.
  • Bluetooth smartphone control app
  • built-in temperature + humidly sensor
  • programmable light cycle and spectrum control

Oh nice and clean build! What is the enclosure made of? How did you make those cuts so perfectly?

Mines pretty vanilla compared to this.

This is the coolest light i've ever seen! What are those LCD display things in the middle? Is air being pushed back to the central hub?
Thanks ,Yeah air is sucked in threw the heat sinks threw the tubes and into then out of the hub. The lcd 's are voltage and amp readoutshttps://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-200V-10A-Voltmeter-Ammeter-Blue-Red-LED-Amp-Dual-Digital-Volt-Meter-Gauge/201959994576?hash=item2f05c0f4d0:g:WHQAAOSw0j9ZSPU7 . About to retire the light though, going to start a new build pretty soon, hoping they release some Vero Gen 8's before I get much older.
