Piece of tape over webcam?

A modern day tin foil hat, sort of...

I don't know. I just saw the webcam on my laptop one day and thought... "are they watching me?"

I've had a piece of tape over it ever since. With the NSA's "Prism" leak, I don't feel that stupid anymore.
 
yeah, may not be stupid for doing that after PRISM... but then... here we are all posting in a grow forum...
which, legal or not in your state... still federally banned...

complete blackout sounds good to me!
 
Webcams can be exploited and turned on and off remotely.
If you don't use the cam and have it covered up then take the extra
step and uninstall the driver.

Scary thing is how new tv's also have webcams. Nothing like being the
entertainment for someone else when your chillin like a villian in your living room.
 
Not a bad idea, hackers can/have used the cams for identity theft etc...was just on national news.

There's a small light that comes on next to it while in use, but it's easy to miss...particularly when baked.:bigjoint:

Ahh I get it... I just make sure I don't let anything but the traffic I'm expecting in, or for that matter out of, my firewall. When I'm pushing data unless I'm running encrypted they can have it with my blessing. I hope their algorithms enjoy my nattering & gibbering.
 
the gov. can suck a d*** for all i care IMO they make things so complicated that don't need to be then they spy on us which is illegal but yet no one can hold them accountable for there illegal action what a crock i better not continue to write or i might say something i shouldn't thats why i stay out of political things but its just not started they been doing this since the age of technology another thing that pisses me off not sure if i posted this somewhere already but the money our money that is supposed to be used for us to make things better is given away to other countries i think we need to stay out of there business and try harder at fixing our problems some might agree some might not all i know is shit is gonna get real and fast
 
I don't have a webcam, and I keep my phone's camera pointed down at my desk. Nothing to see here folks, move along.
