my father in law came over and pinched the top growth off and ever since then the plant growth has seemed to sloww. Has anyone ever heard of pinching the top off, and the effect it might have, positive or negitive?:spew:

What do you mean by 'pinch'? That sounds very similar to topping the plant... as long as it was done in the right spot. I believe topping/fimming or whatever will slow growth for a few days as the plant recovers however I could be totally wrong.

what would "the right spot" be? How many main branches should there be below the "topping" point?

as long as it was pinched off at the 4th internode or above, it shoud encourage growth along the lower sideshoots, making it bushier. this will slow down the plant while it recovers because it redirects its nutrient supply to the other lower branches, which replace what was cut off.

lol, but these links are very informative, we should make a whole section just so ppl can read on all of their problems, u can label each one so wen we have probs jus read it
