Pinching top of buds (Backbuilding) technique

I like this method and have personally seen it done on a regular basis commercially ! Dont be suprised if you get a bit of( re veg symptoms ) or foxtail etc .

But it does definitely work I plan on pinching off half my crop this weekend !
But why would you want re veg symptoms right at the end of harvest?. Not hating but what's the upside to make that worth while, maybe I am wrong in assuming time spent re veging is time away from ripening.

Hopefully, next time this thread is picked back up..... I will have expired from old age. (Even with my health and being 61...Not very likely)

Throw the fucking boomerang farther this time....

Pinching buds back....good grief!

I want to know exactly WHAT commercial op does this?

High end commercial ops today. Run plants on roller carts or rack's of 2 levels and under COB LED's
or
Run full size plants under DE HID lighting with high ceilings and proper heat control...

I think you have a nipple pinching fetish.
BTW, just like the plant....The girl won't like it either!

All I’ll say is try it on one top out of your whole crop
This will fuck up yield, i can't be the only one who's dropped a fan on a cola during early flower, all it does is concentrate the growth auxins into whatever is left up top.

Apical flowers yield more than axillary flowers due to apical dominance and being the shape of a tree, when you hack up the top, the old axillary flowers end up with more apical dominance, yes they get bigger due to this but no, they NEVER weigh as much as an unmolested top cola, so you lost out.

Actually I may have even mis worded what I said (re veg ) heres what I have witnessed after a few weeks of pinched top there was a small area with tiny leave (s) growth ...I am not a super expierenced grower i just kind of assumed theat it could of been classified as (re veg) ....but have seen the proof for some strains at least that the method works they kind of end up having more of an egg shape as well...

I am going to definitley do a comparison under the same conditions/strain and take the photos and make a post and we will see what happens

I won't talk you out of experimenting for yourself, I may be wrong, but at the same time keep in mind no proof oh this methods success has been posted. I'm just offering that as a future caution to check you are not chasing your own tail.

Did u pinch the cola to the top far right, looks similiar to pinch buds, only take 1/8 of an inch or you destroy yah plant
Naww it's just foxtailing a bit. but like back in the day of try and get your cola 6 inches from the 1000 watters you would sometimes get tip burn that killed your growth point and pretty much same tech in the end. basically I think you get an inferior bud because you make it grow more stick inside to compensate for the L it just took. then you get wierd little calyx then a mm of stick then calyx. I'm pretty sure you're looking at a perceived gain but in reality it's more bullshit to thc. as far as I've dealt with. I'm sure there are plants that love it. but I aint got 4 months to find out!

This has been around since the 80s.. People would cut just the very tip and I mean BARLEY.. just a few hair's and perhaps a sliver of the bud.. they did this to taste the product and determine if it needed a flush and how it would taste.. jewelers loops weren't exactly 'amazon' type tools back then and red flags if you tried to buy one..
They noticed the buds no longer had a spear tip and was rounder, more swolen looking.. the conclusion was it did look less pointed, didn't make it more dank and didn't add more weight, just focused energy lower like topping in veg.. It's a 40 year old debate.. probably older.. Like anything with cannabis, if you over did it.. you ruined it.. if not, you didn't. Plus, always wanted to resurrect an old thread
