my plants were looking healthy till a few days ago they are a couple weeks old now and are about 6" tall the stock is a nice healthy green but the stems of the fan leaves are very pink/purple and are very flimsy to the point that my leaves are sagging a little bit right now. right now they are in some organic soil no nutes added yet. where do i go from here? ill get some pics up in an hour or so. any help is greatly appreciated

you're a few weeks in, it's time to start giving them food, they are looking hungry (the purple) but the color does eventually go away. keep your watering schedule constant, don't overwater, keep them warm, 80ish(f), keep a fan on them to toughen stems. I am not sure about yours, being a 1rst-timer (I'm into flowering stage)but mine went away after I started my fertz scheduling and got a fan on them, seemed the thicker my stems became the more green they got (less purple). 'cause when I saw your thread, you had reminded me to look and sure enough not a stem has the color, but the smaller stems near the base still have purple. May be a thickness thing all the way through the grow period. hmmm...anyone else?... /Bump

Purple either means 1 of 2 things...it's genetics is purple...or it's just too cold for the plant. 75F is about where you want to keep your babies maybe a bit cooler if possible...females like cooler temps, around 72-75.

Try maybe 1/6th dose and bring it up to 1/4 in a wk, then so on..

Purpling is usually either genetic(check your strains details), cold night(light off) temps or can be a Phosphorus(not that common) or Magnesium Deficiency(quite common)

Get some epsom salts and mix 1/4 tsp to 1 Litre and foliar feed the plant just before lights out for a coupla days. see if it makes a difference if so, cool...If it makes no difference, see how you get on with the nutes,as that may solve the problem, if you have a good canna-friendly nute with the required levels of N-P-K .

NOTE:- Phosphorus deficiencies are distinct. Purple stems, leaf stems, leaf veins and stunted growth are a sure sign of a Phosphorus deficiency. Leaves will also tend to be smaller and dark green, and may or may not include necrotic patches.
