Piper84 Blue Dream 600w Grow with HIGH HOPES

Hello there everyone, hope all your marijuana fantasy's come true.

Some background info about me: I have been growing now for the past few yrs here and there and always liked keeping a journal so people can follow along. I enjoy it for many reasons ( love, pride, and for medicinal purposes).


Info on my grow: Growing out 3 HSO Blue Dream plants in soil, I like soil because it has less things that can go wrong with it then other mediums (just my opinion) I started off my sprouts in FF Light Warrior soil in plastic cups then transplanted them into FF Ocean Forest with hydroton base. They are in 7 Gal smartpots and the pots are in a 4x4 Cap Flood Table. Im growing indoors in a 5x5x8 Gorilla Grow tent. I am running 600w MH light at the moment. I have 2 Carbon filters 1- Phresh 6"x24" exhaust filter with a 6" Hurricane fan, I also have a 16" Active Air Oscilating fan inside the tent and finally a humidifier to keep the humidity the right %. On the outside I have a 6"x12" Phresh Intake filter and another 6" Hurricane fan attached to a 6" y-connector to pump fresh air into the tent and also air cool my Hood. The intake filter is on the opposite side of the tent then the exhaust ducts. I am really excited because this is the first time I have actually done everything right as far as air flow and odor control. I am using the SS recipe for veg and flower (Have used that recipe forever and happy with results, only difference is I do flush for 2 weeks before harvest instead of feeding up to harvest). My plan is to have low plant count but big numbers. How am I going to do that with a 600w light and 3 plants? I am going to veg these babies for a full 3 months before I switch things over to 12-12. Currently I am on 18-6 light schedule. These girls are already showing some difference in phenotype, 2 I am assuming are going to be taller then 1 that has a more compact node structure. I do plan on fiming and LST these girls to get maximum yield. Also to cut down on the initial stretch I am going to give them 24 hr dark period before I turn it over to 12-12. As of right now I will post pics on a weekly basis starting this Sunday and continue thereafter until Chop Chop.

It will be a fun journey, I am expecting this thing to roll on through to next yr and finish around April sometime.

Just so you get an idea of how much taller the Gorilla grow tents are, here is the one I am using and you can see very little room to spare in a 8' tall room.

Why the filter outside the tent? BTW - nice tent and setup. I'm sure you'll get some nice results with it.

the smaller filter is an intake filter that i use to blow fresh air from outside the tent into it to help circulate clean air in the tent, becuase the exhaust filter sucks the air out of the room.

I do hope so i have grown with 400w and 1000w before and now im doing 600w haha, i was somewhat impressed with my results with the 1000w but i didnt get as much as I was anticipating but some setup issues contributed missed goal. So i have some high hopes like said for this grow. Will be posting soon with update .

Week 4 begining today they seem to be alittle small but they may be building roots up since in the 7 gal pots, i took some pics for everyone. Have only been feeding water and have only fed 3 times so far. Under 600w MH 24" from top of plants.

Will be starting to feed nutes next time at 25% strength. Also will be fiming when I see some vertical growth again should be sometime this week.

Figured I would update here briefly, looks like the plants have finally rooted enough that they are now starting to grow again, seeing the inter node growth pickup a little and picked up the pots to feel how dry they were. Looks like I will be starting to feed nutes later this week and also fiming too. Gotta get ahead of the game if you wanna win the big one. Will be posting pics this weekend and keep things going. Room temps and rh are staying within range. temps range from 77-80 and rh is between 45-55. Hope these things start to sprout up with the vigorous growth that HSO says this plant has.

Boy was I suprised when I got home late to see the ladies last night. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that they are rooted and ready to grow, I notice a big difference in the size of some fan leaves on all 3 of my girls. also noticing that they are getting those inter node branches some love becuase they are all now defined and preparing to branch out. I picked up the pots this morning and fingered the soil and as I thought tonight is going to be the first feeding for the girls with nutes and also going to probably fim them at the beginning of next week to let them eat alittle before I stress em out again. Will be posting picutres sunday cant wait to show you all the difference.

Couldn't resist taking some pics this morning fed the girls last night looking forward to the weekend.

Just figured I would make an adjustment to the time frame for this grow, got nice and baked last night and by doing some detective work, My amended time frame is this should be ending in the middle of March. So not as long as I thought. Also I think I am going to hold of on Fimming the girls till they get alittle more mature and taller. Pics to be posted Sunday.

As you can see they have started to take off looks like good progress i noticed some issues looking at the pics so i will research and get issue fixed.

Quick update:

Was in the tent this morning adding water to humidifier and seen that 2 of my girls must be happy because i see 9 leaf leaves on both of them . Can't wait till new year and they just started shooting up.

Nice and bushy - off to good start. Lot's of places for flowers. Good color.

Very nice looking plants. Doing great imo.
