So this is my first grow, and up until this point ive been growing my plant under a 23 watt cfl flood light that puts outs 125 watts, today bought i a 300 watt standard lamp light, seems to give off great lumens, but is it better to stick with the cfl?

Also should I be able to tell the sex of my plant by now?..Its about 5 weeks old and about 1Ft 2 inches ...are there any other signs that hint female or male? My plant is grown from a bagseed so idk the strain

By standard light you mean a regular incandecent flood light? If thats the case those are no good for growing.
I doubt your plant is old enough to show any sort of preflowers just yet, you can either wait it out until it gets 100% mature or you can flower it now and see in about a week and a half.

yea i guess u could say incandecent but it also is double the size of an ordinary one..if that even makes a difference, and i tried getting the pics on but i cant figure out how to get the image under 19.8 kb, any ideas?

just save the image as .jpg the site should resize when you upload them

If its a incandescent then yeah its useless and you should go back to the cfl's

you should put the plats onto 12 on 12 off lighting now and then you will see if it is a male or female (search sexing cannabis plants)

maybe you should included a pic of the bulb too.

that plant looks about right for a 23w cfl but it looks like you have it too far away as its stretching a bit.

heres a pic of my 6 week old plant i think you need to repot your plant and
use fox farms potting soil you will get much better results also i used 6
23 watt cfls on this one

Do not repot that plant. Get more information, its all available in this forum. Are you using any nutes or just what was in the soil? VV
