Plain tap water

Hello Forum Members,
I am getting ready to grow some Mephisto Skywalker seeds. Fem Auto. I want to use Mephisto's website grow instructions, using Aurora 707 soil.
I have purchased the Biotabs as my only nutritional supplement. Mephisto recommends using only tap water and not PH Corrected water..
Do you guys think that I should use tap water that varies from 7.5 to 7.9 PH. Do you think that PH corrected water will work better with the Biotabs or this is recommended because regular tap water works better with Biotabs? I have consistently corrected the PH in my other grows and it is usually the first thing new growers learn, so using plain tap water goes against everything I know.
Does Mephisto recommend tap water for the ease of growing or because it works better with Biotabs.
Biotabs are far better for our environment. And much cheaper in the long run. Also way simpler.
Does anyone else use Biotabs?
Thanks for any educated responses.

Not all tap water is created equal. It's not just the ph, there is also usually either chlorine or chloramine, and those things can have a negative impact on soil life. I'm not an expert, just know a little about this, others can probably give more details. My understanding is that most cities have public records of the water testing that they do and what additives are used in processing it, and you can often look up online what the results are.

Ph water in super soil is pointless ( between 5 and 9 ( like rarely that is not EDIT the average tap reading, and being under is a lot more manageable than being over Understand the relationship and you will get the answer. they trying to sell there product by saying no need to ph. you dont need to ph in super soil at all

I used to PH adjust distilled water, that lasted a few months. lol... I gave up and stick to just plain tap water and not even mess with checking the PH. Sit out for 24 hours? Sure. Right out of the faucet into the dirt? Sure. I haven't worried about it for over 2 years.

No, I have not read all the literature with Biotabs. I do not think Biotabs and Mephisto have a relationship. I might be wrong. So I see no conflict. If you read the Mephisto growers PDF, their goal seems to be "keep it simple" so I see no profit motive and my motives are listed. In the long run I will save money, no need to mix up nutrients, and a healthier environment. I had been wanting to try a different method and Mephisto's method was different.
In response to the first reply, I was going to continue my practice of letting the water set for 5 to 7 days.

I might be missing the point of all your responses.
You are all saying you only use tap water anyway?? Regardless of using Biotabs??
Thanks to all,

Tap differences can happen regionally, some a lot worse than others. However , you do not have to run Mephisto verbatim.

They flourish in grows running many methods .... I have run Toof Decay in Hempy and bagged soil mixes without issue.
Most good brand soil will have ph buffering already ammended in it. I use tap for garden , no issues. I use tap with cannabis with minor tweaking to match “ host medium “.

You COULD go to AFN or Reddit/Mephisto and ask Stan if he can help with how Mephisto grows. He does not do the breeding and growing part(he does grow though) but he does handle the shiesty sales and therfore can ask Mitch or Brad the growing setup in this aspect.

So from this post, I have learned a lot, I did not even know super soil was a thing. Thats cool. While I know Mephistos grow guide did not need to be taken verbatim. I now realize that ph'd or un ph'd makes little difference. I am very excited to grow an auto that is worthwhile after my last 2 crops of i49 auto's almost making me stop growing auto's completely. I have no doubt my next grow of auto's will be an improvement.

Plus, I can not wait for Super Duper Soil, I am a dirt farmer through and through :)

AS long as your tap water is under 8 you are fine.. I'"M using tap water 400+ppm 8.6ph.

Test your water with a ppm meter. If it’s over 100 I wouldn’t use it. Most time it’s calcium carbonate, the plant can use this but it can also block other nutes especially in the beginning of your grow when ppm levels should be low.
However if you’re using soil it’s pretty much pointless to dial in since soil will adjust it anyhow. It’s more critical with coir/hydro and other soilless mediums

That's my problem with our tap water. Comes from a water well in a limestone aquifer. Tests over 100 ppm at well over 8pH. I tap water from my rain gutter. Got six and half gallons from the shower today. Runs about 6.7 pH and my soil grow thrives.

This all sounds good, I probably need a PPM meter. I have a ph meter and sticks that I use in my pool.
Are all PPM meters about equal?
I just tested tap water for PH and it is 7.9, it has tested at 7.6. But I have decided to use only PH tested and corrected tap water with no nutrients added to the water.
I do not mind testing it every gallon. Why get out of the habit for one grow. 4 Skywalker's and 2 24K Mephisto seeds with Biotabs and ph corrected water, only....

I've always used tap water with both organic and chem nutrients. (I live in the city) Never saw any side effects of chlorine when I used organic nutes and it doesn't seem to have any down side with the chem nutrients I use now. (MaxiGro/MaxiBloom)

I was considering using Maxgro/maxbloom, it too seems pretty simple. My main question is: I am a dirt farmer, I, like everything I grow in dirt. Even vegetables taste better when grown in soil (TO ME) Do you use soil or hydroponics? The Maxgrow appears to be more directed to hydroponics. Or am I wrong? If you are a soil grower, do you mix it in your water or do you apply on top of your soil.

I grow in promix bx. The only bad part about maxi product is some people have a hard time getting it to dissolve in cold water. What I do is put about 2'' of water in a 1 gallon arizona ice tea jug and let it sit at room temp for a day. Then add however much your using and shake well then add water to top it off. Sounds like a lot of work but it's really not.

Ok, thank you. So this sounds much easier and I know the cost is way less. I must try this.
After my current crop matures. I will not begin another crop until September, the summer months in our state get too hot to grow.
And I am going to use MAXIBLOOM & MAXIGROW. The label says Hydroponics, I am just looking for other nutrients. And different methods.
