Planning a move, so planning ahead

Well, trying to keep this as slim of a post as possible and already deleted a wall of text. The long and short of it is that I'm moving from a very friendly state to a very unfriendly state. This means I won't be able to buzz down to the dispensary and pick up some clones, a luxury I've been spoiled by for over a decade.

New address needs to fly under the radar and I won't know anyone there, so having a safe address could be years out. That means I want to take things with me and be self sufficient. As I'm not as bold as I once was, seeds are sounding like the best thing for me - acquire in my current state and have a relatively stress free drive across the country. I'm struggling with the concept of sustainability though, and it's compounded by the fact that I can't manage to find anything BUT feminized seeds at dispensaries.

Before I shut down the last time (2 years ago) I kept mother plants going for years on end. I never really vacationed because of this as the odds of finding the same cut at a dispensary years later have been practically zero in my experience and it's hard to let go of a prized pig. I intend to live a little more moving forward, so being able to flower out moms and shut down for the summer or something would be really nice. And that's where having a finite amount of feminized seeds gets meh.

Current plan:
  1. Get a nice variety of the best seeds i can find locally (almost assuredly feminized, because that's what they all have)
  2. Vac seal with desiccant and make the move
  3. Pop a few beans and re-seal the rest (opaque container in fridge with added dessicant)
  4. Take clones and run those until I need to vacation
  5. Continue to eat away at the seed stash over the next couple of years
I don't really understand breeding and my search results are so muddied by buzz words that I can't make sense of it. My goal would just be to have more beans.

Q 1) I know about self pollination, but can that be done on feminized plants? Or does that guarantee hyper hermies?
Q 2) If I do find a pack of non-feminized beans, can I use 100% male plant pollen on feminized plants? Or is that also hermie territory? If that's a viable option, are the resulting beans still feminized or back to 50/50?

Really any other suggestions would be awesome. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has left a legal paradise. Hate to do it, but home prices are just stupid here and I want the cool house and badass yard I worked all these years for. Thanks for any input.

Sweet, that’s definitely a game changer. Might not be able to find anything well known in regular seeds, but I suppose even the most oddball cross could give me beans and allow for pheno hunting of something that most closely resembles the original female. Thanks!
