That's the only picture I took wish it was a little closer you can tell I have gaps and can probably get the smaller ones off but 4 of them are already digging into the branches

It won't hurt I don't think. The stem will grow around the clip. As long as you have the skin on their it's alive and pumping water.

I'm on the fence with this. I've had it happen to stalks while using FloraCaps, and the plants were fine. But I've also read about how braided bonsai branches can choke each other out as the plant grows.
I would take them off if possible, but if not let us know how they turn out.

You could chop them off with a pair of dikes or some such if need be.

I feel your pain. I had to cut the opening and make it larger for these. Eventually I just took them off.
OP I'd do your best to take them off. Needle nose or regular pliers with care not to damage the plant. Use green garden wire to LST next time.
but yeah something that's easily bent to remove is always nicer

I think you are worrying too much. If there is room for them to grow in diameter they will. If not, take or carefully cut/saw them off and never use them again. I think the benefit of using them (easier?) Is obv not true. If you dont have a saw, even a serrated knife will get them off. Or pruning shears used carefully.

steel wire 16 or 18 ga. I use 14ga solid copper with insulation.

Amazon sells "plant ties" that are good basic wire for $2 to $10 or so. There is a very gentle soft tie, just like a twist tie for a garbage bag. And then xtsho above showed the stronger ties. For stronger ties I also like and use velcro. All available from Amazon, cheap.
